    I’ve just been playing against him and he was good as medic. I’ve seen it before.... when he concentrates he’s a good player. But then he starts whining/gets wound up, and his gameplay goes to shit. So, Mr.Yo... just play the game bro, you’re good at it.

    He can be VERY good at engy, sniper, soldier and medic. But other times he’s awful. I’m guessing his mood affects his skill level on the day? I know he plays better with good players, but doesn’t shine by himself against half decent players.

However, there WAS something dodgy about his offensive play style at times though...I’m not sure I can say it out loud on this forum. It was the same thing another well known player was doing, which I recorded (and !reported, but I was told to stfu by the admin). I may put that clip on YouTube so you guys can check it out.

    Go ahead and post it. Also, if you have evidence(even a condump), post it.

I'm curious what Admin would tell you to "STFU" over a !report.

I can see telling someone to STFU if they're yapping about a problem in Pubchat. Because that warns the person who's causing the problem that they will be watched.

    Ok, here is a little clip I took of BicycleRepairman last year (May 2020 by the looks of it). He is aiming down and seemingly avoiding major damage. He survives major AR damage and a grenade at point blank range, before he gets the flag and straightens up... then he dies to a grenade.

He also charges me with a grenade primed, which goes off right next to me, killing him and leaving me unscathed.

My suspicion is that he was (and still is, at times) using a pitch down script that enables him to avoid damage. When he gets the flag it seems to cancel it (or he manually cancels it).

The point of this is that we were talking about Mr.Yo's skills and it reminded me of this, because I've also seen Mr.Yo do the exact same thing.

Maybe I'm wrong, I dunno... but here's the clip. Play it at 0.25 speed to slow things down. I can't use editing software to save my life.

    A few months ago, I modified the server to prevent people from looking down past the normal limit of cl_pitchdown 89. That should have been fixed then.

Prior to that it would just periodically check the CVar and kick if it was out of range, but this didn't detect when people would set it higher and then back to normal between the checks.

    He's only looking down at a 45ish degree angle. If he was pitchdowning to avoid damage, his head would be between his legs. He's a runner rather than a fighter IIRC, so it doesn't matter much where he's looking as he just tries to speed past everything. It's also possible that he conced past top spiral and still had the conc effect and doesn't know how to properly adjust for it, which might explain shooting low. Either way, nothing suspicious with his stature.

D2F runs sv_clienttrace 1, which means the actual hitboxes are a bit smaller than the models suggest (most other servers and league settings run 3.5 to compensate). You have to be exactly on center mass for hits to register, and if they do you see a blood spray. You only managed to hit about 15 of your AR shots, and the rest were off from both the model and hitbox. AR does 8 damage per hit so you managed to do about 120 damage to him with AR (Medics can survive 190 and slowly regenerate health). Your nade was way off and wasn't even enough to kill you right next to it, so it would've done very minor damage to him in his position, if any at all (your body might've blocked the damage). A Soldier would obviously make more sense in the basement to deal damage quicker and be able to control his motion.

As far as the middle clip, that's quite obviously not a "fully charged shot"... It was like 1 second at most, which means around 90 damage for a body shot (leaving him with ~100 left).

I think because valve said there was no reason to run anything other than 1. However I do see its commonly used at 3.5, so I'll increase it a bit and see if anyone says anything.

    I usually like servers all playing at the same standard for consistency, and 3.5 sv_clienttrace is nice on other servers for more reliable rocket airshots, getting the most out of your shottie on warp speed offense, or nailing boosting flagrunners out of the air with sniper shots on adl, but on D2F it's primarily just going to make yard snipers even more obnoxious, which is why I never bothered bringing it up for this community, heh. If people are annoyed by the best D2F snipers with clienttrace 1, then ooh boy... =/

So that's me being objective about the downsides. Though obviously as a sniper myself (and liking consistency) I'd probably appreciate it (at least when not trying to play O, lol).

Either way, my vote's for whatever, heh. /shrug

    If that video shows no wrongdoing, then so be it. I hoped I was wrong (even if I’m very paranoid at times). It just looks odd to me though. My main concern was the leaning forward while not firing and also his grenade at the end, that killed him but gave me no damage whatsoever, despite being next to me.

Drippy, can I just ask (as you’re talking about hit box size) why do I get loads of body shots (with blood splatter) in my gameplay, but the enemy doesn’t take any damage? It happens to me a lot as sniper. Is that due to the reduced hit box you talked about? It’s frustrating for me to get a clear shot on target, but it appears to that enemy like I missed.

Then again, I get some outrageous flukey shots, so I guess it all evens itself out in the end.
