But.... on the plus side....
I'VE GOT MY BABY BACK!!! Took me until this morning to get it connected to the internet, but my stress level dropped the minute I had it back on my desk and powered on.
I've got a lot to do to restore it back to where I had it, but that's a task I'll easily take on today. | |

Alright.... minor update:
One of my memory sticks was bad, so now I'm only running 8gb in this thing. On the plus side, I have some older memory sticks around here that might fit. Had no idea that memory sticks were so expensive.... and yes, I looked at prices on the site of my local store.
So far, though... restoring software is going well. I've got iTunes and Steam reinstalled, and iTunes is recognizing the library on the external drive.
Steam, on the other hand, is being a stubborn fucker. Might have to re-download everything... but at least I've still got half of that monster drive free (4tb free of 7.9tb). So, at worst, I've lost "saved games" that may not be in "the Steam Cloud". I'm SO not stressing that.
So, I got lucky as fuck with how "low cost" this repair is. Jerry isn't gouging me for the work(he always gives me a "bro price"), and the hard drive was only $28. The worst part was losing my fucking mind for over a week.
If I'm honest, this is the most traumatic thing to happen to me since Rose died. And yeah, this actually ranks up there as a close second. THAT is how "computer dependent" I've become. I'll figure out some way that this never, EVER happens again. | |

What RAM is it? PC2? PC3?
I can't remember what I have beyond several Ziploc bags full but I'm pretty sure I have something that will suit. What's your number of RAM slots and max RAM, and what slots are filled now? | |
