You're better than this Matt. The impact of a president is not immedaite because the policies take time to take effect. The current situation is largely due to Trump and the policies he implemented or rather did not. He weakened NATO by constantly undermining it while in office therefore boosting Russia's hand.

The 2008 crash was *largely* because of Bill Clinton. His rubber stamping of mortgages to people who couldn't afford them, when he re-wrote the Community Reinvestment Act it added pressure on banks to lend in low-income neighborhoods and to people who in general couldn't afford them(loans). You mention deregulation, that's rich. Bill Clinton repealed the Glass-Steagall Act which aided in the crash as well, that was a *regulation* passed in 1933 btw. Should Reagan take some blame? Sure, I guess. But what examples do you have that Reagan was the sole cause for the crash? IMO I would put a good 90% of the blame on Clinton.

I disagree that Biden was ever a good man. He's the poster child for corruption and always has been. Prior to his more recent gig of using his son and brother as front men for his influence peddling scheme, he was a long time shill for the credit card companies.
The best that can be said about Biden is that through no fault of his own, he was widely recognized as the dumbest man in the U.S. Senate. In that regard, one could say he was an over-achiever. | |
