I remember the 2001 "Fuck Western Digital" refrain. Is this another Western Digital disaster on the horizon?

If this is being professionally hosted for you there shouldn't be any issues. SCSI and RAID are some acronyms that come to mind.

Baring that there's a slew of free tools that will measure hdd performance/integrity if it's a windows system(assuming you have admin access). I'm sure there's stuff like that for linux as well(assuming you have root or sudo).

if this is a windows server... wow... which i doubt, cause windows servers needs to be rebooted regularly... or something like that, which blows since i had one back about 4 years ago or so and it would be full and it would reboot by itself every night

The server is Linux based. I know that because I was hoping to run a server with QLAD on a home unit. I DL'd the files(which are freely available)...but never got around to getting Linux for one of my machines. The Linux OS's I could find would take 3-4 days of constant downloading, at cable speeds.
