    I changed the server to reduce the time limit on games. I noticed a lot of games get decided pretty early on, anyways, so hopefully it will provide more fun this way.

Of course it means your game records for kills and whatnot are probably set in stone now, but we will see how it goes.

    Well, that's a surprising move. I can't say I like the change. That's pretty much the end to comebacks. There are lots of games where an early cap decides the game, but that's mostly because of lack of offensive players and a gluttony of D whores. A lot of the blowouts we have are ridiculous but would've been abbreviated if we'd tried lowering the 20 caps to none round-ending rule I suggested a few months ago.
I liked 60 minute rounds. I feel this does nothing to discourage D whoring, if anything it encourages it, now D whoring squads only have to "hold on" half the time for the draw, whereas before the offensive team could wear and lean on them for 60 minutes, picking up some newly joined players along the way that then helped them cap in the last 5-10 minutes, and those are some of the best rounds I remember.
If this doesn't dramatically improve......something......I'd hope we return to the 10 years we've had of 60 minute rounds.

    Personally the only thing that needs changed is the Teles allowed in BM resupply.

    for what it's worth...I still think a race to a predefined number(3-5)Scramble, and start all over again...with 60 minutes being the max for any round...

but I DO like the fact that you're willing to switch things up a little

Good point, I remember the same.
but knowing they only have 30 minutes to either win or lose, might push people, instead of them falling back on the hope that the other team will soften, or an O player might join the game..

    Was just on for 5-6 rounds, and I have to say I think it might work. Of course I was on and a part of all the winning teams, but seems like for the people who do/can play O there's a bit more urgency, the teams I was on generally capped at least once in the first 15 minutes, and then either doubled back on D or continued the pressure. And when that D whoring defending their loss team buckles down, I have to say it's a lot more tolerable waiting just 5-10+ minutes for the round to end and get the win, then running up your death count against a full team defense for 40+ minutes when you've already won. They have less time to pad their stats or go on some dumb D streak. 60ish is like the new standard top score.

    I think it's a good idea and worth trying out ...and what the heck--if we don't like it, a few lines of code and it never happened!

And anyway, my hourglass is more accurate for shorter time frames.

    I like the idea of 30 minutes rounds. I personally thought 60 minutes was too long for a while now. And nothing is worse than a round where just 10 minutes in, you know the round is going to be awful but you know you'll have to wait 50 for the next round to start. I'm not a fan of playing on the weekends because it seems like all the spammers love to come out and play, making it a DM round instead of CTF, but I might jump in sometime over the weekend just to try out the shorter rounds.

    You know, "Well" would be cool with 26 people. Then again, so would "Rock2"(love that map!), Hell, even "CZ_2" would be a blast with that many people.

Instead of adding another map to the server, though.... how about just bringing back #2, and just use the stock map rotation(sans 2fort, of course)... with a script that automatically sends people to it when D2F is full and they try to join. I know, another server does that... but that's ok. I think it would draw more people.

Not a fan - sometimes the lead is early on, but only because the teams might be "weighted" towards one or the other, which generally evens out mid-game, if not sooner, giving that team a chance to catch up or even take the lead.

Been on losing teams dominated by noobs while the other was dominated by heavy duty cappers - game is decided until more seasoned players join.

60 minute games give a team a chance.
