The server has reached its final destination at tfc.lunaticrage.com / 199.193.114.171

The web and database server has also moved, and is currently running on this new machine.

Updated server cost to $50/mth (this is pretty cheap for a dedicated server)

Please post any issues here

Sorry, had a look at the hosting and saw a $49 Atom - would have been pretty impressed to have a HL dedicated server running on an Atom - although thinking about it, I'd be curious as to how a dedicated HL server would run on an Atom 1.6 GHz single core.

Where's this one located? My ping is much higher than the New Jersey server but it feels like my connection's a lot better.

Looks like its in Tampa, FL now (I thought it was going to a NJ datacenter but I must have misread).

Would have liked to keep where it was, but I couldn't get the CPU I needed on it reliably (VPS). The disk IO was pretty horrible as well, which is why the website was loading slow for the past couple years, not that it mattered.

Not sure if I broke the Internet, but I just posted in Whiners Corner - I can see 'new post' from the forum homepage, but I can't see my comment. Just a heads up.

Nah it's not waiting approval, all my other posts are ok.

Weird, prolly just a quirk of the Matrix. Like deja vu cats.

Do you have a link to this post? Was there anything special about it? I can make new ones fine and I don't see any errors in the logs...

edit: Something is definitely wrong, but I can't find it.

Er... ish. The topic was http://www.lunaticrage.com/drippy/forum.php?a=vt&f=2&t=14201
If I understand the forum parameters correctly, I'm guessing your m's are a unique ID for messages - in which case, it was in reply to m=288851. I posted a message, and it went as normal. However, while the front page claimed a new post by Shemmie, in the correct topic, there was no new message posted on topic if you clicked through. I think my message would have been between Luca$ and Masse's posts, so around 288852?

As for anything special, it was a reply to Luca$, and used the quote feature. Perhaps I did something odd in editing it? If I remember rightly, it was just a quote, and possibly I added a URL.

Thanks! That helped, and I was able to track down what happened. However, it doesn't make any sense, unless your connection was reset as you were posting the message. I accounted for that possibility now, so hopefully that fixes it.

I can find the broken messages now, so I can see if it happens again for anyone. Sadly, the actual message data was not saved, so I can't recover them.

Apart from you, it happened to three other people - early this morning, on 8/1/12, and on 3/10/08, which is fairly bizarre.

And now I can't see my new post. Exactly like Shemmie. In this thread.
