I can't connect to the server! It times out 3 times and gives up. Tracert to www.lunaticrage.com even timed out the first time through in the NYC area. :-( | |

Have you checked your DNS? I was having terrible server lag before I changed my DNS servers to Google's "Public DNS". My latency dropped by about 20-30 ms on average. | |

DNS has nothing to do with latency. Once a domain name is resolved, no matter how slow the DNS response was, the rest of the traffic just uses the IP address. No lasting impact from the DNS interaction there.
Sounds more like a routing, congestion or traffic shaping issue. When it persists for more than a day you may want to troubleshoot your own system/network. | |
