The server was converted to steam on 7/21. Everything should be exactly the same as far as custom mods go.
STEAM Server: 66.135.33.45:27015 (hl.qlad.net:27015)
Keeping Your Stats :
First, you need to make sure you have passwords on both your WON id and STEAM id.
To set your password in STEAM, join the server and use the !pass command (like '!pass weak' to set your password to 'weak')
If you forgot your password on your WONID or never set it, email me at tfc@lunaticrage.com (mailto:tfc@lunaticrage.com), give me your WONID, STEAMID, and what you want the password to be on it. Pick something you dont use for anything else (since its all transmitted in clear text), and not something like your name. Ill see what I can do to verify its you and get back to you.
Then, visit http://www.lunaticrage.com/drippy/change.php
and select your WON and STEAM ids using the forms provided. One of them will be filled in if you have an ID associated with your login. To select one, simply enter your name or ID in the boxes below it, and click search. Then click on the result that is your ID. After that, enter any passwords required, and click the button to switch/convert. You should see either a successful conversion or a big red error message. Once you transfer stats, you may only transfer them back, you cannot transfer either one to a different ID. Make sure you do it right the first time, and make sure you have been disconnected from the server for 5 minutes Management will not be responsible for lost stats, though I probably can help you if you do.
Getting Steam :
To get steam, simply go to http://www.steampowered.com/index.php?area=getsteamnow
and click to download the steam installer. The initial download is 600kb. It should be able to convert your existing HL installation to steam, and then the only content you will need to download are the updates for it.

there will be a webpage you visit to select your old wonid and your new steamid and it will move the stats over

Darius, I just dl'd it, and played on the #2 server with whiterabbit. It really isn't that bad, very smooth i think. | |

I know you had said that before Darius....and what were the reasons? Was it the system you're running? I'm reluctant (only cuz I'm scared shitless) to convert, but obviously have no choice. I do appreciate Drippy hanging on as long as he has.
I'm downloading now and will attempt to install. If it wipes everything out and I can't get on for a while, I'll see ya all around once I get it fixed. Stay tuned as I am sure I'll be posting for some H E L P ! ! :( | |

Mine just switched everything over. Can't get into old (won) half life. I don't know Korben... maybe after the gang switches it will be better but I didn't like the graphic or the wait to start or the ..... the damage seems different. | |

Steam is not the hellishly sucky program i once knew. It actually runs quite well, and besides the new transporter (which i hate personally) there are no real changes.
It also hosts a quite fun 2d semi half-life kinda game which i enjoy. I suggest other people try it. its called "Codename" something, i cant remember the rest. | |

I wouldn't have a problem with it if it wasn't for the fucking OpenGL compatibility. In the WON Version, I can select OpenGL Mini-Driver as my video driver, but in the Steam that option isn't avaliable, so I choose OpenGL and it doesn't work. With D3D the text is all garbled and messed up. I'll take screenshots of the mess it is in D3D. | |
