This happened to me in the past, but it was very rare.
Today, it happened around 5 times. I'm confronting an enemy...and he just disappears. I can hear his footsteps, see any rockets from them etc, but they are totally invisible. If i'm not dead after this, they appear again.
Anyone else experience this? | |

Elf have you been drinking again or maybe your coke bottle glasses fell off your large elf nose?

Kilmov, I would think the 1 hour a week the penitentiary gives you to use a PC would be used for better purposes.

There's the Invisible Players event that happens every so often... If it's not that, then I'm not sure what the issue is. Perhaps switching over to old models will help? | |

Definitly not an event, but good suggestion with changing models. I find it too dark in the spiral and I often have trouble distinguishing between red and blue.
It could help. Wonder if its my ancient video card (ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB DDR5) and Vista 64 that's causing it.

Recording demos often elevates player models waaay above where they're actually supposed to be in the beginning before various triggers reset them to normal, and on 2fort they'll usually be above the ceiling where you can't see them. Obnoxious little quirk.
But that wouldn't explain it being a random and routine problem for you, if you're not stopping and recording demos every time it happens. | |

Guys, this has been happening to a lot of people lately. I have experienced it myself on the FUNTOWN server, as well as a couple of other people. When we realized it wasn't exclusive to any one player, we rebooted the server and haven't had an issue since. But I did hear someone on a different server complain about it the other day, and it happened to me at Drippy's last week.
From what I have seen, it usually only happens in certain parts of the maps, not everywhere. So, I think that MAYBE using that bugfix option that is available at D2f, you know the one that clears all the black walls after you've had the basement rave event, maybe that might help? I don't know, just a thought that just occurred to me. Otherwise, maybe Drip could reboot the server every now and again (though I am sure he does this anyway, even though I don't remember witnessing it more than once or twice). | |
