To be short, yes, I had a response to the aimbot deal from over a year ago. It came off as very rude, but was not meant to be. I started a re-write, but then half of what I own in the world decided to break (cars, computers, toilet, etc.). It wasn't all bad, though. A friend of mine hooked me up with a new career drafting bridges. It took up more time than I thought. I can't believe it's been over a year since I played here.

I see that you're still trying to be fair to everyone. I don't think you're an idiot, and I never ran around slagging you off. I think you're doing what you think is right, so I decided to write this. I had no idea before how to convince you that your system for catching cheaters is flawed. I may have an idea now.

Use what you can to take the guess work out of the equation. Remember the demo of Wolf-X wall hacking? I suggested you watch it with X-Spectate, but you didn't. I know this, because I did, and if you had, I have no doubt you would have banned him without hesitation. He not only looked at people constantly through walls and the floor, he watched a soldier rocket jump onto the battlements. It wasn't even argumentative. X-Spectate may not work anymore, but hopefully there is something that will.

I've watched more than my fair share of videos of people who were showing how their cheat systems worked. I've seen examples of how the "bot snap rate" value works. I've seen people on THIS SERVER manipulating this value. It changes how fast the cursor snaps to the target, and when set to an extreme it will make the player target in "slow motion", for lack of a better term. It's hard to tell it's being used once it's set properly, though. I can explain how to catch it, if you're curious.

Another safety feature is "bot snap distance." Most people will only need a little help in aiming. Think about how much you would need to help increase your accuracy. I'm guess not very much. A player model width? Half of that? It helps hide the bot, because a lot of it is the players aiming. Vibe did that. He was a decent player who used a bot to be better than he was. He didn't go get a bot after he knew no one was supposed to talk about him. He had one the whole time, but that day he turned off the safety features. That's why when (if) you read their forums they tell each other not to rage/uber hack.

Now, imagine including a non-sticky aimbot. How does it mask what you would normally look for? How would it look with the other two safeties above? The bot doesn't hold, so it gives the illusion of the player aiming. It's hard to catch. You have to be patient and watch.

This was longer than I meant it to be, sorry.

To everyone:

DO NOT POST ANY LINKS TO HACK VIDEOS OR HACK PAGES IN RESPONSE TO THIS THREAD
Even if you are just trying to prove a point, don't do it.

Thank you all for your time

We're all getting older. It's time to get a 9-5 job, cut your hair, and shave off that beard.

(/me does his most sinister voice)

There's a cubicle with your name on it, Iggy...

Do you..

You know, I might.... Give me a minute on that. I think the big question would be, if I find it will it play?

Dude, I've been looking for a job for over a year now. No, I'm not cutting my hair, but I wouldn't mind covering my tattoos.

I've got long hair and a beard and work in an office. Fuck corporate America and its clean-cut persona. Don't do it, Iggy. Don't give into the Man.

No worries there, Illusion. I don't mind pulling it back, but I won't cut it. My work ethic should stand against that "clean cut" bullshit.

Yeah, tats might be a prob for ya, Ig, depending where they are. But I can accept Illusion's advice -- conditionally.

My hair is probably longer than all you mofo's and keep a neatly trimmed goatee. I work in field known for its button-downedness. And I can get pretty button-downed myself if the job calls for it (and it often does). I get away with it because I am usually hired (self-employed...looking to get hired daily) on the basis of my experience and reputation. Been doing this shit for years and learned a few things.

But it wasn't always that way. Had to pay dues, get known, make connections, pull a few rabbits out of hats, etc. For most of my career, it was suits 5 days a week and closed cropped hair. It just got to the point where I didn't have to fit the image to do what I am hired to do. Yeeh, at times I have to suit up, pull back the hair, but it helps to have a bit of gray in it :). But its not uncommon to meet with prospective clients in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.

So, if you are looking for just ANY job, you need to get trimmed up. If its a job for which you have considerable experience, not so much, but don't go in with your freak flag flying. And I've seen your beard. Too whispy to be long. Sorry. I'm not lucky enough to have a full thick beard either.
