This is what a lot of people can't seem to grasp. Free speech is subjective to where and what you are doing, if you're sitting in my living room and I ask you to watch your language and you turn around and tell me to go fuck myself, you bet your ass I'm showing you the door. Drippy is pretty liberal on what players can do or say on the server, and since Fish is perm-gagged he must have said something that really irritated Drippy or one of the other deities. For that fact he has been gagged instead of banned. You have obviously missed some of his team-chat tyrades he has gone off on, and then has the balls to take his free speech rhetoric and wave it like a banner. It is no different than when iudex wants to make suggestions to Drippy in how he should change his server.
The missing point is that it is Drippy's server and the bottom line is that if you don't like the rules of the game don't play, or play somewhere else. When Drippy says "deal with it" which he has in many MANY occasions, you're expected to do just that, to complain about it ie. to whine makes you a whiner... need I continue.
There is a reason this server has been around as long as it has, and why it's been the mainstay of TFC for probably the past 8 years now.

You're right, I do not know what led to Fish being perma-gagged and vilified. I like to think it went like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnqUbz6Dpaw. I've never played with iudex however his threads are pretty hysterical and I can respect that. Personally I'd like Drippy to change the sky graphic to the vortex from True Detective https://i.imgur.com/rUPyuKu.jpg, but sadly this thread is not about me and my unrealistic desires.
From my own experience, Drippy and the Deities in power are fair and forgiving. Fish being gagged and not outright banned is a testament to that. I respect the rules but we are all just humans with creepy skeletons underneath and sometimes things get a little out of hand but we can learn and grow and achieve some sort of zen balance. | |

Thank you for explaining Deathbringer. I'm way too paranoid to do that though, although I may put fake info out there just to get some cool flair.
Also, yes, I quite literally meant that I can be perma-gagged at any time. I do my part by limiting my vodka intake to more than a pint but less than a handle. This way I can play "hard mode" without collateral damage.
So yes I respect the ball gag but there is a small part of me that enjoys embracing not giving a fuck. The balance between being a contributing part of the community and a complete asshole is one of those things that makes life interesting. | |

So you're saying it is acceptable to be a bloody idiot? The value of IQ scores is debateable at best. Fish actually plays the game well, whereas there are other people (no need to mention names) playing the game who are completely oblivious to the events going on around them.
I think a lot of what Fish says is just meta-commentary that goes over a lot of people's heads and they seem to get angry because they don't get it, and I don't hate them for that.
