Why do we even bother? You're an idiot -X-. In your delusionally warped mind you justify your argument by constantly tossing out that single solitary fact. Of fucking course gun incidences go down because people don't have the means to fight back, because... Again law abiding citizens have turned in their guns, so instead of it being 2 shootings there's 1. And it's the bad guy shooting the law abiding citizen without the fear of being shot back. A fact that fucktardedly you fail to acknowledge. And yes gun related crime incidences may fall but other methods not only increase but tend to spike. Yet another fact you neglect.

@moose Both. You can't say you're not free just because you have to be a law abiding citizen. Owning a gun for protection is not freedom its idiocy. | | @-X- What banning guns does is shift criminal statistics towards other weapon types. The overall crime rate DOES NOT change just because firearms are banned.
You're full of baseless shit while accusing others of talking baseless shit, you ingrown asshair kurvar of a rrot kari Cuckbama.

It is on point. If a law comes in to say you are not allowed to own a gun then you have to abide by that law. It doesn't impede your freedoms. Its for safety and quite frankly for the greater good. Even if a single life is saved (although thousands every year will be affected) it would be worth it.
If a law comes in saying you can't use your mobile phone while driving then will you fight it because it impedes your freedoms?
Let's not bring up the constitution, a 230 year old document because if that's what we doing we might as well live by the 10 amendments.

It has everything to do with safety, and you know what the law reads distracted driving is illegal and it absolutely should be! Being a professional driver I can't tell you how many times a day I see people driving around texting, or looking down at their laps trying to hide what they're doing. Distracted driving goes so far beyond just a cell phone, which btw is legal to use provided you have a hands free device. I applaud those laws because I see the consequences of distracted driving all the time. And to be completely honest, distracted driving and bad driving in general harms more people worldwide than anything else, including guns. Yet the auto makers pump out thousands of new vehicles daily. And by the way, walking past someone who obviously is carrying is not near as worrisome as driving a large vehicle and seeing someone blow a red light because they were paying more attention to their phone or their favorite radio station they're trying to find. And if that's not enough of a pucker factor for your war torn ass, then you realize there were 2 car seats in the backseat. That instantly could have been 3 if not more lives taken with no gun in sight.

I was going to stay out of this thread but the responses are just wrong. There is a problem in this country with gun violence.
As of today (12/2) there have been more mass shootings (where 4 or more people are shot) than there are days in the year (351 mass shootings versus 334 days gone in the year)
From Reddit: http://shootingtracker.com/wiki/Mass_Shootings_in_2015 . This beats out 2014 which was the highest on record, which beat 2013 which was the highest on record.

Big deal. We've had 313 murders in Baltimore this year alone. Do you think these people are inclined to obey more gun laws, when they don't abide by the ones currently on the books?

| | . This makes no sense at all.
Murder is against the law but people are murdering in Baltimore so Baltimore should not have any laws against murder? Is this your logic?

No, ya meathead. I'm saying that MORE of the same laws won't make a damned bit of difference, since the criminals aren't obeying the ones already on the books.
If a law goes on the books saying that home owners may only own .22 pistols for home defense, and no guns bigger than that can be in your possession at any time.....
It won't stop a fucktard from getting a semi-automatic and shooting up a school.
Why? BECAUSE CRIMINALS DON'T OBEY LAWS!
That's why they are CRIMINALS.

And to what you said Tref, society as a whole doesn't have a gun violence problem. What the problem (not just in the US but all over the world) is that people don't have respect for their fellow man. I pose a challenge to all of you: Walk down any city street, dress like you would normally and ask people passing if they can spare a dollar... For every person who says they cannot or will not, ask yourself this: It was just a dollar, what would have happened if I was really in need of something greater than a dollar. The moral here is that if you're not willing to give a dollar to someone who either "appears to be" or is in need, how the hell can you expect to help them when the stakes are higher? Humanity as a whole has lost respect for one another, we are jealous of what others have that we don't. There are someone people that have forgotten that you have to work for what you want and need, and don't bother to think twice about taking it from someone else, not to mention that we've put a dollar value on human lives, and sometimes (more often than not) a life is taken for the contents of a wallet. Which may be $500 or $5, that's the real problem. It's not guns, or knives, or things like that.
