Poll: What should the punishment be? | | | Warn (30%) | | | Kick (52%) | | | 1 hour ban (9%) | | | 5 day ban (9%)

For the past couple of weeks, there's been a lot of complaints about "pre-match teamshooting".
Prior to the "count-down" reaching 10 seconds, it's not really a huge deal, since armour packs will probably re-appear.
The problem is: There's only TWO of them, and if more than 2 people need to replace their armour...... it's a problem.
There's also the (not so)random asshole that likes to time a detpack to go off right when the match starts(particularly when FF is on).
Of course, the perpetrators think it's all innocent fun because it's pre-match. Frankly, it's getting annoying.
Annoying to the point that I'm going to polish up the "Hammer", and start using it for those who just can't seem to grasp the concept.
Those who are habitually doing it browse the forums(I've gotten the reports, and made notes). Which means you've read this. Consider this your "warning".
It's gone from "innocent fun" to borderline game disruption... and shall be dealt with as such.
Pre-match is so everyone can get into the game, armour up, stock up on ammo, and grenades.
When FF is on, you're ready to run out the door, and start playing when the round starts, and some dickhead TKs you right at that moment. You not only have to take the time to respawn, grab armour and ammo, but chances are, you just got fucked out of grenades. Yeah... I'm not waiting for the TK auto-ban to kick in.

Warn and then kick on second offense in same pre match. I'd think a 5 day ban would be harsh unless they habitually do it even after told not to.

Option 5: no punishment. Shouldn't this thread be posted on the whiners corner? :p But seriously maybe Iggy has a point. I'm sure whoever the team shooters are ( probably that hunt Iggy cow pest...I've already told him a few times ) ought to try and lay off the team shooting.

IMHO warn, in as much as a scout or medic getting sniped pre-match can make the difference between a win or a draw. I know, I know, early cap isn't fair, the D's not in place, it's cheap, yadda yadda.
But the TS rules are in place due to potential team disruption. And this is game disruption, as I see it. If TS is a warning during the game, it makes sense to make it a warning at all times?

I voted 1 hour ban. I don't get why anyone would shoot their teammates in spawn

If Drippy-wanted to allow D to "set up" before the round starts, the "pre-match" barrier wouldn't be at the spawn exits, it would be in front of the base. So, early caps are fair.
And, yeah.... Hey-Zues..... That "!hunt Iggy" guy is under a microscope. Got lots of complaints about him, specifically. So, it would be a good idea if he knocked that shit off.
The "det pack in respawn during pre-match when FF is on" guy though.... That's asking for a ban... IMHO.

5 day is a bit much at the start, but following some warns and a kick or two, a 1-3 day ban could suffice

Hate team shooters in the respawn. Armour takes a wee bit longer to respawn than bags but in the time it takes to wait for armour to respawn after pre match is over, enemy offense is already either in the spiral or flag room. And going in with little to no armour makes it harder since 100000000% of the time that offense already plans to empty their entire nade inventory to clear out any enemies, SGs, dispensers, etc.

Can we all agree that snipers that team shoot in pre-match are 10x worse than any other class?

Tsk tsk. While I have been spending more time playing other classes lately, Sniper will always be my favorite.

Pre-Match team shooting can be really annoying. Especially when you actually care about stopping the other team on defense. It's the competitive aspect that gets lost. When my own team is hindering my effort to defend I stop caring about defense at that point and do something else instead.
For example when Epz joins, I usually pick the other team. When my own team ruins the opportunity to start the match proper, all I can do is facepalm.
As for punishment a warning before anything seems fair but for the habitual people a stronger message seems in order.
