That's crazy. Thanks for posting that. Looks like there was a huge dip in mid 2012. Wonder why?

Seems to dip almost every summer, but that one also included me switching the server from 60minute to 30minute matches and then to 45. I don't know really.
The kills graph looks better there -- not as many joins, but still lots of action.

I wish they'd bring DS9 back into syndication. I don't do Netflix or Hulu (I don't watch much TV either) so it would be nice if Spike or something picked it up.
Anyway, the graph doesn't look horrible. Almost like it's just leveling off, or drifting slightly upward the last year or so.

I like his rendition better than the original. But sadly, DS9 was one of two star trek series I did not like. The other was Enterprise with Scott Bakula in a terrible performance with weak scripts.

It tackles things very differently then the rest. I mean the setting is primarily a spacestation (not counting the defiant) and deals strongly with religion and faith. There is the over arching war with the dominion and a true ongoing villain in Gul Dukat. And Dukat is the best villain in any startrek. Its story structure causes many episodes that are 4 parters give or take. The others do 2 episode stories(with exceptions) but no true ongoing story like DS9. I can understand why some people don't like it though. But honestly VYG is better?? wtf you smoking??? you should give it back to Fred it may be to strong for you. and I 100% agree with enterprise, i hated the scripts and scott bakula failed as a captin.

Yeah, I can't imagine liking Voyager over anything. That show was a mess.
DS9's first season is regularly pretty facepalm-worthy ("Allamaraine", lol...), since it was still trying to do TOS/TNG sci-fi crisis of the week episodes and they were just so terrible. Characters like Rom are wildly off base compared to what they eventually end up as, and they clearly had no idea what to do with Bashir, either (oh gods, that evil Bashir ep was just so, so bad).
But the pilot was strong, as were many of the regular characters even though they didn't always have anything worthwhile to do during that first season. Garak and Dukat were showing their early promise, though. And Duet... Duet was amazing, and better channeled what future DS9 was gonna be like.
By S2 they ditched what worked for TNG but wasn't working for DS9, and started concentrating on their own stories, like religion and the aftereffects of the war and occupation, etc., along with strong character focus which wasn't really a thing in TOS or TNG. Then by the end of S2 and start of S3, the show really found its voice, against the backdrop of the Dominion War, and the characters really started becoming amazing at that point. S3~5 were incredibly strong (kinda like TNG), and then 6 and 7 were still quite good as well, though I feel like the writing dipped a bit by then (particularly in regards to Dukat).
TLDR, if you've only seen bits of the first season or two of the show, it gets significantly better. DS9 has been gaining a ton of steam throughout the years and it's regularly neck and neck with TOS and TNG as ST fans' favorite Trek. It's certainly my favorite, though I love TOS and TNG too.
But yeah, some people still won't like it regardless.

Good input Spoofer... I think that DS9 suffers the same problem that TNG and VYG had which was the early season(s). Each show was struggling to find its self and understand what the fan base would be/want.
It seems that writers just shrug and throw shit at the wall and sees what sticks in S1-S2.
TNG season one has some horrible moments, some thanks to the CGI budget (or lack there of) and I still cant stand Diana Troy's Space Cheerleader outfit.
-edit- if this conversation wants to keep going I will make a thread in the offtopic section. Sorry to drippy for jacking your thread
