I actually learned this while I was working. I was brought a new team every season. I taught them the established way, but was always open to new ideas. I never talked down to them, and most of them learned pretty well. Some were even kept on when permanent spots came available. | |
This isn't work, where I don't tell people to do it themselves. Work is different, and with the geniuses we're getting, 'learn on your own' isn't an option...true? Aside from that, when I was promoted, my supervision classes involved 'coaching'.

This is Drippy-'s and this is the Whiners Corner. Some people here are insulting and disrespectful by their nature. The how to is literally in print for people to read it, like I did, to learn how to do it. I mean, it's fucking right there on the screen to the right as I'm typing this...doesn't get any clearer.
And, for clarity, I have mentioned (in the past) how to tag links, only for the same people to continue to not do it. Sometimes I just fix it, or someone else does, but it's not rocket science.
Also, sometimes the best way to learn is to do. You could say that also part of what's tearing the country apart is just how lazy and entitled people have become. Why do the work, when someone can do it for you? You're defending the same people who read a headline and feel they're versed enough on a subject to make an argument because they can't be bothered to take 10 minutes to actually read the article and maybe a couple follow up/alternate sources to broaden the picture a little.
But, yeah, OK boomer...

BTW- I read all that. But what I'm saying is to just "toss them a bone". At the very least, link to a search for the words they need to search for, and let them go from there. Not saying link every single thread needed, just help them in the first step. | |
