Poll: What do you think was consistent?
Rittenhouse - Innocent ~ GA boys - Innocent
Rittenhouse - Innocent ~ GA boys - Guilty (85%)
Rittenhouse - Guilty ~ GA boys - Innocent
Rittenhouse - Guilty ~ GA boys - Guilty (15%)
Poll has ended (it ran for 7 days). 13 total votes.
My wife and I have been in heated arguments regarding the state of the american justice system and what the outcome of these two cases would be. It was what I expected, but she was convinced they'd all be found innocent. I'm curious how y'all view the two regardless of the actual verdicts. Hitz can come up with creative options for a separate post on just the Arbery case.

This verdict is as unsurprising as the Rittenhouse one. The two cases are vastly different.

    Can you elaborate, angry_salad?

I think there's more shades of gray with the McMichael's case than Rittenhouse. One was in broad daylight, the other occurred at night, passed a curfew of nebulous legality, and when there was rioting going on. Kenosha looked like Gaza after an Israeli bombing sortie.

The McMichael's case, those guys should not have tried to place him under arrest. Let's be honest, Arbery probably was up to no good, I mean, he was trespassing. I did read that there's no evidence that he stole anything, so I retract my "armed robbery" cognomen in the other thread. But Arbery did reach for and grab the gun. Both the McMichael's should be charged on the false imprisonment charges but the other guy was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I fail to see why he needed to be charged. I think the malic murder charge is also a stretch. I don't think the guy who actually discharged the firearm intended to do so until Arbery reached for and grabbed his gun. Maybe some sort of manslaughter charge.

It's once again clear how your racism is coloring your "judgment".

Disparaging the victim as "Armed Robbery" is as blatant as it gets (no doubt something you've been sheepfed by your handlers that you were all too eager to gobble down), when the only ones armed were the ones who murdered him, and quite obviously no robbery had taken place.

"Arbery probably was up to no good", yeah, because he was black right, which is what you boil absolutely every issue down to right from the start. Certainly it's the only reason why a jury would convict right, to prevent his fellow rightfully-outraged Black Americans from expressing their generations-old pent up anger and resentment at being shit upon on the daily, rather than the jury actually seeing that justice was done.

Arbery visited the house under construction 5 times on his various jogs I believe, and not once was there evidence that he attempted to steal anything from those visits (wtf are we suspecting him of, stealing scrap metal and stuffing it into his shorts before continuing his jogs?). Even the property owner acknowledged that, unlike all the white people who had been stealing from his property, he thought Arbery was merely taking a look at the place or getting some water, and along with every other sane person didn't believe anything that followed was justified. Idk about you, but I've trespassed to take a peek at plenty of properties under construction during my lifetime, as it's an interesting process to witness firsthand. Thankfully, I was never hunted down like a dog and murdered for it.

After the good old boys decided to unrelentingly chase this guy down for Running While Black (and with no evidence of any actual crime), attempted to hit or block him numerous times with their two vehicles, stated that they were gonna blow his head off, and confronted him at gun point, the guy was clearly under so much stress, with the cloud of American racism so thick over the situation, that no reasonable person would victim blame him for either fight or flight (and to reiterate what was perfectly obvious to anyone with a functioning brain, he was attempting flight unsuccessfully the entire length of the incident up until its tragic conclusion).

The rule of felony murder is a legal doctrine in some common law jurisdictions that broadens the crime of murder: when an offender kills (regardless of intent to kill) in the commission of a dangerous or enumerated crime (called a felony in some jurisdictions), the offender, and also the offender's accomplices or co-conspirators, may be found guilty of murder.

The concept of felony murder originates in the rule of transferred intent, which is older than the limit of legal memory. In its original form, the malicious intent inherent in the commission of any crime, however trivial, was considered to apply to any consequences of that crime regardless of intent.

As I understand it felony murder has always been defined as the killing of a person while any crime was being committed. Same as if, as you so desperately wanted to equate, a killing happened to occur during an armed robbery even if it wasn't the initial intent. Hunting this man down for being black (malice) and attempting to falsely lay their white boi justice down on him was clearly criminal, even if you're too much of an NPC indoctrinated by your side to see it.

They were guilty as fuck.

    @Spoofer et. al,

You're replying to disingenuous keyboard warriors that don't practice any of the convictions they so fervently write about.

Don't feed the trolls.

Happy Thanksgiving. Always brine the turkey.

@spooger the semen connoisseur , one hand washes the other... some food for thought.

@engieghent, haven't done a thanksgiving turkey since 2013 but yes, the brine makes all the difference. Alton Brown has a great brine recipe along with pointers how to cook a thanksgiving turkey.
