Because I had something happen not too long ago, that blew my fuckin' mind.
Yes, it happened on the server. We're about to go out grocery shopping, but I want to start a thread about this.
I got killed, my body landed on a teleporter, and the teleporter sent me to the exit. Dead. Literally, dead.
I've never seen that happen, like EVER!
I know I have it recorded, because I watched it again last night.
As soon as I find it, I'll get the clip edited and up on my channel. That shit messed with my mind for a moment. I think that's the first thing that has actually "shocked" me in decades.
But just to note, this is the reason everyone should record their matches. You just never know when something bizarre is going to happen. Then you wished you HAD recorded it! | |

Those teles come in handy. I was being chased into the sniper spawn by a good player, I was backpedaling and I accidentally stood on the tele entrance with my hp very low, about to die, and was magically transported to our basement spawn, where I naturally had to press my “survives to kek another day” bind to the irate player. Well,I thought it was funny anyway… | |

I believe it. I usually do the 1-2 combo of rocket then super shotgun and sometimes the rocket is enough to kill the enemy where they died but I’ve already clicked the mouse button to bring up the shorty and fired on the corpse. If the timing is right you can still get blood to show up on a extremely fresh killed corpse right after or a the very end of the death scream. Idk maybe the game thinks the very recently deceased is still an “entity” with alive person properties. So given that the instant you died and were on the teleporter, you must have been within that very small window where the game thinks your corpse is still an “entity” and teleported you. | |

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm thinking.
Something that I've noticed, and maybe I shouldn't talk about this... but what the Hell...
When you die, and can still look around in "Death Cam".... when you finally do Respawn, you hear a "reload" sound, and the body, if it's still there, shifts slightly.
That's how I know the person I just killed has already Respawned, and it's safe to reposition myself without them being able to see it.
It's one of those really subtle things about this game, that can make a difference in your strategy if you know to look for it.
I found the video, and I'm working on editing it now. We went grocery shopping, and just got home. So now I can finish the editing and get it posted. I'll drop the link in my next reply in this thread. My reaction to that happening is actually funny. | |

The weirdest thing that has happened to me is I die, but I can still move around. Laying on the floor but can move, I made it to respawn and grabbed helth and I was back to life. I think that it happens when you are killed and ALMOST dead. It's happened twice. LOL

THAT one, I can explain. That's happened to me, too. It happens in the very RARE case of your health being exactly ZERO. When you take damage, normally, you end up with a negative number when you die. Do a "health/armour" check when you die. You'll see something like "Health: -51 / Armour: 0". That's when you end up Respawning. The next time you have that happen, look at your health (%h), and it will be exactly 0. You can actually be "killed again" if someone sees you, and shoots you. I've seen that happen, as well.
I guess they didn't have room in the engine to program it so that "health = 0" means your dead. It has to be a negative number. Either that, or no one thought it would happen, or would be so rare, they left it in as a joke/Easter Egg. | |

Edit: Drippy-, this happened Monday, May 2, 2022, 9:31:41 PM, at least, that's the time stamp on the original recording.
I hate to ask this, but is there any chance you could pull that HLTV, and show what it saw when this happened? If it helps narrow down the time, there was between 15 and 20 minutes left in the round.
If you'd prefer, you could zip the file up, and I'll do the work. Either way would be appreciated. I'm just curious how that looked on the outside. | |
