You got it bad... Some motherfucker's got it worse than you do
My Father in law for the past 14 years.. Experiencing late alzhiemers.. Fell and hit his head in the shower.. Long story made longer.. Tomorrow he goes into hospice waiting to die.. Seminlucid... I saw a picture of him and I lost my sit.. Now I sit here with a 12 pack of space dust.. I know it's inevitable.. But fuck... Hold your *loved one's closer... Imagine being born, and being handed a life sentence, but not knowing the date 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻

My experience is that those who work in hospice care are angels on Earth.
I know this is tough going through, but rest assured, he is in good hands. It truly sucks watching someone you love and respect going through their final stage of life and knowing there isn't anything you can do to stop it. However, Hospice nurses are very attentive and compassionate when it comes to taking care of those going through it, as well as supporting the families of theirs.
Just be grateful he's not in a nursing home, where the care is the exact opposite.

I'm sorry Kyree. The waiting and the knowing is excruciating.

My father died of Alzheimer's when he was 76 (possibly due to poor care in a nursing home, but he wouldn't have been there without the Alzheimer's). He had been 'debilitated' for 2-3 years, but the last 6 months or so he basically lied in bed staring at the ceiling. Since I consider myself to be in pretty good shape physically, I expect Alzheimer's to be how I go also. Those that have listened closely already know I have trouble with word finding and forming my sentences properly at times.
