The human being is myself, and not any account being used. A second account only means that the same person is posting on the threads with two separate accounts.

I understand this is a very bold statement to make amid the psychological degeneration of our society, where an online account possibly could be human according to liberal lawmakers. And not just human, but they can choose their own gender.

Things are good, other than all the OT this weekend, but whatever.

I hate festivals.

Both. Working county, I could avoid them. Working for a town now, I'm stuck working it. Festivals bring out the rednecks.

Positions of far right Republicans in 2022:
* The government should control what a woman is allowed to do with her body
* State legislatures should be able to overturn election results they disagree with
* The government shouldn’t allow books we don’t agree with

and

* The Left is trying to take away our individual liberties

Anybody claiming “states rights” is forgetting the whole point of the phrase “states rights”; southern states wanted to the right to preserve slavery.
For anybody interested in the second bullet point that far right Republicans in 2022 are pushing for, please see the below:

TLDR - States that have legislatures that are mostly Republican are advocating for superseding/ignoring their own state laws that indicate the Electoral College votes go to the winner of the Popular Vote; completely ignoring the will of the people.

TLDR - Democrats wanted to eliminate the electoral college altogether because Hillary didn't win.

Both are wrong.

Both are wrong.
1. I'd say that after any election, there's a wave of people pitching the "ban the electoral college" flag; while it was particularly emphatic in 2016, I don't think it's specific to it
2. Even that position of eliminating the Electoral College (one that I do not agree with) is an effort that requires Congress to make such changes; the above is skipping that step, and allowing state legislatures to ignore the votes of the people if they don't like the outcome
3. True, both are wrong; however only one of the the two is circumventing the individual liberty and right of voting

So, in 2020, the SC held that states may punish or replace presidential electors who refuse to cast their ballots for the candidate chosen by the voters of their state.

So you're saying that, now, after that ruling, they're going to backtrack through a different ruling in 2023?

Sir, I suppose one could admire your unyielding support of the Democrats, but are you suggesting that only Republicans are seeking to change rules to disregard the will of the people at election time?

It's a separate and different ruling; you're referring to one of Faithless Electors, while this is in regards to what's called Independent State Legislature.

To quote the thread -
Republican strategists are gaming out which states have Republican legislatures willing to override the votes of their people to win the White House for the Republican candidate.
Georgia's Electoral College votes should be going to the victor of the popular vote (left or right). If current Republican leadership succeeds, then the peoples' votes that should declare a candidate a victor, can be shrugged aside by the state legislature.

It can also allow the State legislatures to create new election laws without checks and balances from state courts or the state governor.

So the people that draw the gerrymandered maps
1. Will have the power to create new election laws without checks/balances
2. Will have the power to override the votes of the people to choose who to elect

I suppose one could admire your unyielding support of the Democrats
I actually find myself more moderate these days. The current Democratic leadership is just an abomination - and a shell of itself. My political views reflect my belief system and my values - ones that I try to practice daily.

In either case, I would find this appalling of any political party, left or right.
