Dissection. They toured the US in the 90s right before Jon got locked up. They never came back after that and then he killed himself. https://youtu.be/Fm0RhnzRKdA Root - legendary Czech band. Late first wave, 2nd wave blackened metal that turned into something more unique in the 90s and they developed their own sound. A friend of mine caught them live in Europe a few years ago and said it was awesome. But my favorite part of the band (guitarist) is no longer with them and their music is kinda shit now. I love their 90s albums - check out Kargaras and also The Book. https://youtu.be/9ng-_b7T-uY riff machines
JUST noticing now this thread is not just metal bands but any band LOL.
In that case, I want to see Yuzo Koshiro perform the Streets of Rage music live because it happened and fucking rules. https://youtu.be/mW03QgubN0M Also, salad, sorry to be a negative Nancy but I find Amon Amarth are boring and generic now. Can't believe how big they got, and how trendy Vikings have become. I feel like they pump out the same shit now and are just riding the wave. They used to be good live but I've given them a hard pass every time they come through since the late 2000s. They're probably still good live, but I'm just a sour puss these days on some bands. Funny story, they played my city in 2004 and me and a few friends got to have beers with the vocalist Johan at the bar across the street. He was telling me that his real job was selling cheese at a grocery store back in Sweden. Something tells me he doesn't do that anymore.

I find this very hard to believe. Our brain reacts to it in many different ways and music is tied into human emotion. I can understand not liking music scenes or styles, but music as a whole? Wtf do you listen to, white noise?
https://buffer.com/resources/content/images/resources/wp-con... Your brain must be wired differently. Fuckin robot

Chuck from DEATH died a while time ago. They're not touring anymore, HOWEVER, there are tribute bands playing I think one of them is called Left to Die. Chuck was a legend and I also wish I caught Death live. Somehow missed them back in the day. Awesome (and influential) band. Death, Atheist, Cynic, Morbid Angel, Deicide, etc. Love me some classic FL Death metal. Now that I think of it, the Tampa area was the cornerstone for that sound and they just got hit hard by the hurricane. Will play some FL death metal today.
VOIVOD is still touring. Awesome live. I caught them in Providence RI about 5 years ago. I can only imagine how good they were in their heyday. For fans of VOIVOD, check out the band VEKTOR. Similar style, just a newer band.
VENOM is kind of doing a Pink Floyd thing where some band members went off and are playing Venom songs but under a different name. VENOM INC. They're still touring, I believe.

Gaba's favorite band: NSFW https://youtu.be/kBwhHgMjwIg Saw this band live because they were from Boston. So bad, yet so good. I think I've posted them here before. So ANTI-PC and will ups probably cause a lot of problems today. Band is no more. Josh Martin, the guitarist since the late 90s died a few years ago by falling off of the top of the escalator at the Providence Place Mall. He was a character. A few months before he died, he trolled Gene Simmons of KISS so hard that Gene Simmons got off of the stage and tried to beat his ass.
It's on video https://youtu.be/M7_VuQANEdE

| | Venom is split, with Cronos still carrying on with Venom, and Mantas doing Venom Inc with Tony Dolan doing bass/vocals. Tony took over when Cronos left the band and they put out the Prime Evil album and a couple others. He was a good replacement, and Prime Evil was solid, though it got away from their black metal roots.
With Chuck gone, there's no death. However, Death To All has Gene Hoglan, Steve DiGirogio and Bobby Koelble, who all were in Death at some point, and Max Phelps, who plays/sings and does Chucks vocals and solos justice. While it's not Death, I've watched footage, and they're a solid tribute to the band...I'd go if they do a tour again.
Voivod isn't the same without Piggy, and I like everything they did up to Dimension Hatross...everything after is pretty weak in comparison.

Wait, Mercyful Fate?
Did I miss this one? Shit, I'll have to see them...
