Played a match last night that was one of the most stacked matches I've played in a while. I find the algorithm to be really good sometimes as far as balancing teams based on skill, winning, etc.
But last night, there was a team of UPSET, Gaba, Judge, and a few others. I didn't play from the beginning and joined about 10 min in.
But even though my team had more people, we felt completely over matched. The D was kind of helter skelter for a chunk of the match with only a few people communicating.
Anyways, long story short - in my opinion, there is no way they Auto-Assigned in the beginning. If I'm wrong, then I'll eat my words. But it felt like the old days, pre algorithm. What say you, Gaba?

Yeah it seems like the balancer always hates me.
Im always on david vs goliath teams.
I auto-assigned the last time I played at the start of the match and it was me vs xeno, upset, yo! 1vs3 right off the bat.
3 players all better than me and I just noped out of there as there was no one in spec besides quantity that would have leveled it out and more often than not quantity doesnt matter. | |

Clicking on Red or Blue is a placebo no? Like I remember every time I tried to click on a team it would auto-assign regardless. I figure all options are therefore auto-assign and if you clicked on team and you got the team you clicked on, you were pre-destined to be on that team at that moment in time.

There is a threshold where it will allow you on the team you requested if it only slightly makes the teams worse, but that rarely happens so its usually auto-assign no matter what you choose.
And when there are less than 8 players, it behaves like a normal balancer by number of players on the team -- if each team has the same amount of players then it will let you on the team you choose.

It's not so much the balancer; I have a conspiracy the some people go around it somehow. But it sounds like that may not be the case.
Sometimes I just have to remind myself that some players (or "grapefruits" nowadays) are better than 3-4 average players on the same team. | |

Nah I get what you're saying...it's like the other night it 1v25...me vs everybody
I can't help the fact that I'm just that much more advanced and the balancer needs to put 8+ xeno's on one team just to try and get past top spiral on me
Look, I understand, egos are easily bruised but it's just a game folks, don't worry...it's not like we're making videos of these games and posting them to a giant international video library accessed by billions of people where this content will live as evidence in perpetuity for generations to watch | |

I feel the same way sometimes. I wish the balancer would divvy up the grapefruits and have even teams rather than having them all on one team and outnumbered by a couple of misfits and n00bs one the other. | |

A few matches were stacked in a row. We could have balanced it. I balance regularly but not always.
On the flip side it gets old every match being a stalemate or 1-0 game, like watching a soccer match. Sometimes somebody just needs to get fucking pounded, and accept it
