Dunno what your point is.
No point really - only observing the chaos of the universe. He turned his head at exactly the right time, at exactly the right angle, to avoid a more severe result.

It's funny to go away for a week, have this even happen during that time, come back (today) and read this thread.

The speculation and conspiracy at the beginning is interesting to read after all of the information that has come out since Sunday.

It's an interesting case of inside job, that's for sure.

Hold on... are you seriously saying that Trump is such a narcissist that he was willing to "take a bullet to the ear" in such a randomly timed event, JUST to play "super-hero" to get re-elected?

Is that honestly what you're saying right now?

I think by "inside job," he means inside the government/Secret Service.

Not that they made it happen, but LIHOP (let it happen on purpose).

Have you read anything on this?

No, that's not what I'm saying at all. Not even remotely.

Inside job in terms of way too many odd things all lined up pointing to someone in government setting this up to take Trump out.

20 year old with zero internet fingerprint...wiped beforehand?

Kid surveilled the site days before.

Kid brought a gun and spotting scope to the event and apparently no one questioned it?

Kid brought a ladder to get on a building with view of the stage, no one questioned it?

This building had no sniper presence on it, but law enforcement inside of it.

Couldn't put snipers on THAT roof because it was sloped...but the other roofs were sloped that had snipers on it...

I don't recall some odd connection with the building itself...never Trumper, some sort of DNC donor, I don't recall, and it could be BS from Twitter.

Cops went to check the kid on the roof and retreated when he pointed the gun at them. They radioed about it, but they didn't take him out.

FBI found nothing on his cell phone, then found little on another cell phone, but then magically found 3 off shore encrypted accounts.

Kid, according to fellow students, tried to get on the rifle team, but couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

Had a remote trigger and IED in his car...pretty sophisticated shit for a 20 year old.

They knew about him a full hour before and all this shit was going on, but they still let Trump take the stage.

The one I really love, but have to take their word for it, is THIS was the only rally that CNN has covered...why? I've tried searching to find out if this is true, but the search results are all current event, not past.

There were questions raised about Trump's security detail, a request for additional resources, allegedly his detail was assigned elsewhere that day and he got more locals and less secret service that day.

That's just off the top of my head tonight. But here's an AP article that backs up some of what I've put here:

https://apnews.com/article/trump-shooting-rally-a1bcbaa4a604...
I won't say Biden himself ordered this, because I don't think Biden would do it, nor could he do it in his diminished capacity. However, it's pretty compelling to take some nobody patsy, wipe his internet footprint, train him a little, pay him and then give him every opportunity to succeed in a circumstance where there's no way in fuck he should. He never should have got a round off, but he did. We can't ask him about it though, because...well, dead men tell no tales.

The chips are down, Biden is fading fast, he fucked up during the debate and he likely can't beat Trump...but if Trump is gone? Biden doesn't step down and he can continue to be a puppet to whomever is pulling his strings for the next four years. Made for TV....

The only problem? It's not November 1963, and there's fuckers with video everywhere. They can still stall and sweep it under the rug, but now, because of Twitter not being shitty anymore, we all get to see it. It's made for TV alright, and Twitter is the new news. You still have to really go through it like anything else, but there's spots there where it's just like the news should be...unbiased and just the facts.

The director of the secret service should resign. And just to be clear, her DEI bullshit needs to go too. I'm sorry, there's jobs out there where you don't just check boxes, but that's what we're doing these days and we're going to get people killed because of it...I watch that shit come out of the academy every 4 months now. "I want 30% of the SS to be female" is fucking dumb...unless that 30% is there because of some merit based decision making.

Don't get me wrong, I've worked with women from MSP and a couple in my own department that I'd take in a heartbeat over some dudes. But there's also those women that checked a box and you get on scene with them and they freeze....or they don't know how to holster their weapon.....or they just stand back with their hands in front of their face behind the pile of men who are protecting the former president.

Nothing better than getting on scene with a partner who is 5'1" and 100 pounds and you have to arrest someone who's 6'4' and angry. Ugh.

Fuck DEI....fortunately, companies are starting to figure it out. XBox/Microsoft, John Deere, Google, Meta, etc....maybe Disney will finally see the light so they can get back to making good content again....

Anyway, I don't conspiracy theorize much, but my gut tells me this was an off the books government operation that was thwarted, in part, by divine intervention (apparently), and an inexperienced assassin.

That video that Ghent posted is some shit...technology does some cool shit.

Also, the teleprompters weren't hit. Trump's ear was struck by a bullet, not glass.

And, while we're on it...I wasn't a big fan of cancel culture before, and I'm not really now. However...the left is kind of reaping what they sow here. I don't like the idea of punching down on the little guy, like the granny at home depot, but Destiny getting his prison pocket punched...I'm good with it. And I hate Tenacious D, so fuck them too.

Anyway, fuck you hippy...you knew that wasn't what I meant by inside job. Bitch.

edit: I forgot...everyone's favorite with law enforcement: we investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing. If they let the FBI or DHS investigate this, it's fucked...they have no credibility when it comes to Trump related topics. I don't trust the Federal Government at all.

I'm assuming I'm seeing this as part of an algorithm at this point, since I don't follow him and it's not showing (anymore) that this is a retweet from someone I do follow. So I know nothing in regards to this guy or his leanings, but I'm going to assume right leaning.

Still, it's a compelling rabbit hole.

And, hey, the timing of this global microsoft outage is really an amazing coincidence.

I'm beginning to believe there are no longer any coincidental happenings.

Let me guess..... you hated The Acolyte......

(Also, Solo wasn't a bad movie. Not up to Rogue One, but decent enough. The ST on the other hand..... that was a disjointed mess, and I wanted to like them.)

I haven't watched it. Unfortunately, the back and forth on Twitter has made me second guess watching it.

Solo wasn't bad, I didn't mind it.

Rogue One was legit, so anyone going 'yOu DoN't LiKe WoMeN lEaDs' can suck a fat cock. There's so many decent women characters in the SW universe that long time fans would like to see portrayed as leads it's not even funny. I can name at least 15 off the top of my head...starting with Asajj Ventress and Darth Zannah.

I liked Mandalorian, Kenobi was okay...surprisingly I liked Andor, being the first show without Jedi AND Mandalorians. Ashoka was good, with a great female lead, oddly enough, and Shin Hati was badass too. Sabine was okay, but I'm not sure how I feel about the tapping into the force as a non-force user. Curious about the midichlorian count there.

Bad Batch, Clone Wars, Rebels...all good.

My issue with the Acolyte (before I've watched it) is the director (Harvey Weinstein's right hand girl btw) has to do an article weekly or bi-weekly to explain the show. If you have to do press releases or interviews to explain what you're doing, then you're not doing it well. You've admitted you don't know the lore, then you do things in your show that changes the lore in fairly significant ways. And they need to not make season two...cos that bitch will ruin Darth Plagueis and Darth Tenebrous...and they think the old school SW fans are pissy now....

Eventually, I'll watch it. E3 will be tough cos I've read too much about the lesbian space witches and their shit, and E5 is nothing but walking until the last 3 minutes of the episode apparently.

Honestly...why is it so hard for Disney to just make awesome MCU and SW content? This checking boxes shit isn't doing it, and no one gives a fuck who the lead is as long as the story is awesome. Let's face it, no one bitched about the lesbians in Andor...pretty fucking easy to write a good story AND include the sexuality stuff if it's really needed. I don't know who watches SW for love stories though...I mean, we almost had incest FFS, what a nightmare.

Edit: The ST was fucked. Squandered some really solid characters and now all we're left with is Mary Sue Palpatine for future movies....great.

I don't know if we should take this particular topic elsewhere, or what.... but "Hell with it", I guess.

I'm going to straight up and honest with you for this. I really liked the series. That whole "lesbian witches" was the worst piece of tripe I've heard in decades, because it literally wasn't true. At all! The people who made that claim were fantasizing their own fanfiction (and likely their Pornhub search history) in the worst possible way.

Shit... I'll have to give out a few spoilers here, which I hate doing.... but it's the only way to counter that dumb shit with the actual story. So, apologies in advance.

First, let me ask a question: Do you know anything about (real world) witchcraft and/or covens? This is an important detail, which I'm about to get into.

I studied witchcraft when I was in my 20s. Covens are, by their nature, female centric (if not exclusive). The primary belief with regards to Wicca (the official name of the religion) is "And it harm none, do as thou wilt." The witches portrayed in The Acolyte basically want their freedom to practice their religion without interference from the Jedi Order.

Also, a line from Return of the Jedi plays a VERY important role with this series: "You're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view." And also something Palpatine said to Anakin in Revenge of the Sith: "Good is a point of view." Which leads to a "real world" idiom that says, "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."

So, when you DO watch it (and I recommend doing so), keep those things in mind.

Consider the Jedi Order like either Israel, or the Catholic Church.... they are basically "state sponsored/endorsed religion" that decides who can/should/can't/shouldn't use The Force, and basically answer to no one except in very rare/extreme circumstances, in which case they "investigate themselves... (you know where that's going)" and maybe the galactic Senate slap them on the wrist and tell them "Don't do that again. We mean it this time!"

The witches are not "lesbians"... they don't "git nekkid and scissor each other" on screen, or any other kind of sexual shit that "some people" claim happened (their fantasy, honestly)..... and it actually goes back to something else Palpatine said in Revenge of the Sith: "He (Darth Plagues) was SO powerful he could use The Force to influence the Midichlorians and create life."

One of the witches performed some "Dark Side" ritual, to manipulate the Midichlorians to impregnate another witch of the coven, and "create life".

Somehow, that was converted into "dem lesbians fucked and made kids..." and probably blew a wad into his pants at the very thought.

Anyhow, one witch performed the actual ritual using The Force, and the other actually carried the twins until they were born. They were born 24 years prior to the "current day" portions of the series (about 84 years prior to The Phantom Menace). So, that's the actual story there.

The Jedi Order had sent 4 Jedi (1 Master, 2 Knights and 1 Padawan) to the planet the witches were "hiding" on, because the planet was thought to be lifeless due to an incident decades prior. Not only did they find plant life on the planet, but also the coven of witches. They were there to look for a "Vergence in The Force" on the planet... and found the coven. Upon discovering the two children (Osha and Mae), they entered the "fortress" the coven occupied during a ceremony, which put the witches into a defensive posture. The Jedi "asked" to see the children (the only two there), and "asked" to test them (as we saw Anakin do in Phantom Menace) to see if they were Force Sensitive. It was implied that the Jedi were not going to take "no" for an answer.

Anyway.... shit goes sideways the following day, and I mean REALLY went sideways, resulting in the deaths of the entire coven except for the twins (Osha and Mae), and potentially the witch who actually carried and gave birth to them (but we didn't see her body... so... ). Which set all of the events of the series into motion.

Basically, the Jedi "on site" made a lot of mistakes, and covered their fuck ups, up.

As for this part:
My issue with the Acolyte (before I've watched it) is the director (Harvey Weinstein's right hand girl btw) has to do an article weekly or bi-weekly to explain the show. If you have to do press releases or interviews to explain what you're doing, then you're not doing it well. You've admitted you don't know the lore, then you do things in your show that changes the lore in fairly significant ways. And they need to not make season two...cos that bitch will ruin Darth Plagueis and Darth Tenebrous...and they think the old school SW fans are pissy now....
Yeah, I heard about her weekly press conferences..... and thought it was kinda stupid. Yet, the people who actually NEEDED it explained to them probably had the combined IQ of a room full of retards playing with bouncy-balls.

I don't think any actual lore was changed, although I don't know how long Muun are supposed to live (you know who I'm referring to there). That's the only "lore" thing I noticed and questioned. But I'm not familiar with the species all that well, anyway. I can't afford to buy the books, and Wookiepedia was recently rocked by a scandal of some sort. I don't know the details of it, and really don't care, either.

Anyway... what you've heard about E3 and E5 are just....... bullshit. "From a certain point of view".... Remember those words.

The Acolyte offers a lot of "partial information" and E3 is from the "point of view" of an 8 year old child, 16 years after the fact. Episode 7 covers basically the same events from another point of view. Which, of course, sets up the finale episode. Some people consider this frustrating, but if marathon'd, it should make the story better than having to wait a week between episodes. Of course, a week is still "Hella-Better" than 3 years between movies, or 16 years between trilogies.... so there is THAT, anyway. ;)

Just go into it with an open mind, forget all the BS you heard from people whose intent is to trigger your emotions and make you hate something before you've even seen it. Consider what I said, which is an honest perspective that isn't intended to piss you off, but I honestly hope that you'll watch it objectively and enjoy it.

Don't search for things that will piss you off, and you should be fine.

Look...I have maintained for years...fucking years, that the Jedi are 'evil' and the sith/Empire are on the right side of things.

Here's the lore changing shit: The Munn should have been what he was in the fucking book, even though it's legends material now. He wasn't some rat, lurking in a cave watching the witches do their thing. He was always hiding in plain sight, and was a very powerful individual aside from being Sith.

The lore breaking aspects start with Ki Adi Mundi, what he said in the prequels about the Sith (of course, the theory is in this series he still didn't encounter the Sith) plus the age limits of his race means he either wasn't born yet in this show, or should have died by the time the prequels occur. Unless of course the Force extended his age beyond typical limits of his race. Still, putting him in this show wasn't needed, unless you need the characters to tie in to the universe it's set in.

Adding Plagueis and Yoda was just to grab people. I'm sure some newbs to SW thought 'wow, they added Grogu' because those idiots have no concept of fuckall in Disney's version.

What they did with the 'thread' twin conception was basically fuck with the prophecy of the Chosen One. I'm sure the point will be that Plagueis watched the witches and learned of this from them, but it's shitty if they do that.

You can create anything you wanted, but for some reason you elect to create this...thing, and it's almost as if you're trying to remake the lore of the universe in order to put your stamp on something.

When they brought Thrawn into canon with Rebels, it was great. When they allude to the existence of Abeloth, fucking solid. Slowly, they bring certain things from Legends and Filoni, at least, respects the OG material.

Headland does not, and for some reason, Filoni allows it. Sadly, with her comments (which may or may not be tongue in cheek) of this being the gayest star wars yet, and the drivel about needing more women representation in it, it's become hard to ignore for old school fans who just want good content that doesn't stamp on the lore.

I never read anything that claimed the lesbian witches scissored, fucked, got nekkid, or any of it. No claim was made about any fucking, which brings me back to the earlier point of using the thread/force to conceive a child. It simply makes the Chosen One not...unique, at this point. They're heading it off, IMO, by introducing Plagueis at the end, witnessing the ritual, while he's skulking in a cave like some rat instead of the powerful individual he really was under Tenebrous' tutelage.

And another point made by someone...you're telling me that Yoda, the most powerful Jedi, can feel Anakin killing all of those Tusken Raiders, or all of the deaths during order 66, but during this show a dozen or so Jedi get smoked and....nothing?

At any rate, I don't require an education on witchcraft or the occult, thank you. I did some light reading in high school because fuck those preppy fucks, and I'm not much for religion, so it was a fuck you to them too. I found the Wiccan stuff intriguing...enough so that I took a suicide call when I was with the county, and immediately recognized it for what it was. The female laid on the couch, AC and fans running in the house on her, took her Athame, shoved it under her sternum and went back/forth. Clean, but unusual for a female.

I'd rather deal with witches than with Christians, if we're being honest.

Anyway, finally, the Night Sisters already existed. Yes, I get that there could be different sects, and the universe is vast, but they're not really touching new ground here. And, the Night Sisters are just better, with Mother Talzin being another female character that OG's love. I forget, we're not supposed to like females unless we like Rose and Mary Sue Palpatine.

To summarize...The Jedi are evil, there's lore issues, the Night Sisters are better, Plagueis and Yoda were just something to dangle to bring OG fans in somehow. I will watch it at some point soon, and we'll see.

There's a Youtuber I follow, The Stupendous Wave, who has done hundreds of videos on lore, and the how/why behind certain things. He is someone whose insight I would trust, and he did not care for the show so much. He didn't hate it, but 'E8 is one of the better episodes in the series, but it didn't no much to redeem the show.'

The heart of any of these issues, be it SW, or MCU, or even Warhammer 40k, is OG fans can be problematic, and so can the new fan, the ones that come into a space, know nothing about the history of it, but they love how shiny it is, make changes to it, then get pissed at the OG fans for not liking it, throwing out the ist and isms. Those fans, once they've destroyed it, then walk away from it because now know one likes it. That's why gatekeeping is actually more important than people care to realize. It's all fucking dumb, but there's a simple solution: don't come into a space and shit on it...respect the source material and create something fucking awesome (Andor, Ashoka, Bad Batch, even Kenobi) and we'll ALL enjoy it. Don't pander to the minority, and don't just give in to the OG's....find that middle ground. They almost had it with the ST...but that was a fucking bag full of cats there. I could have wrote a better screenplay than that...and you probably could have too, Iggy.

I miss the 70's and 80's, where the goal of anything was to write good shows. The TV and theater was always full of great media...the fuck happened?

edit: everything became disjointed in my diatribe due to a DNS error on this machine and needing to reset the router.

Also, everything in the forums gets hijacked, fuck it.
