Update: That dwarf-sized female agent that couldn't holster her weapon WAS the leader of the secret service detail. God help anyone under secret service protection.

Oh, she's done. If she's not fired over that debacle (and yes, that WAS a massive fuck up on the part of the SS), she'll be lucky to have a desk job until it's time to retire.

It's no secret that I don't like Trump.... but as both a former PotUS and a current candidate, he deserves the proper protection of the Secret Service (unless, of course, he turns such protection down, as is his right to do).

That asshole shouldn't have been able to get close to that roof, let alone get on it, and take shots. That failure is inexcusable.

Just because she's the only black witch doesn't mean everything she does is a "dark side" ritual. I mean jeez.
Heh, I had forgotten that we'd gotten onto that topic. But I needed a new keyboard... and finally got one from Five Below today.

Anyhow... No, the ritual had absolutely nothing to do with her skin colour. They openly admitted to using the Dark Side of The Force to create the twins. Yeah, they call it "The Thread", which makes a level of sense if you listen to the dialogue. They may not be "witches of Dathomir", as I first thought they were.... but they practice the same kind of "magic". Just consider how Mother Tausin brought Maul back to his sanity and recreated legs for him, in Clone Wars. And how they took over Sabine and Kanan in Rebels. It all connects.

The Jedi "asked" to see the children (the only two there), and "asked" to test them (as we saw Anakin do in Phantom Menace) to see if they were Force Sensitive. It was implied that the Jedi were not going to take "no" for an answer.
I did get a chuckle out of Indara saying they have a "right" to test them "with [the mothers'] permission, of course." Well, which is it?
The correct answer to your question is, "yes". Both. The Jedi offered the ILLUSION of choice to the witch mothers. That was actually "part 2" of the Jedi's fuck up there. The first was following the twins and the one witch without revealing themselves. Why the subterfuge? The Jedi are flawed, that much is clear.

Just go into it with an open mind, forget all the BS you heard from people whose intent is to trigger your emotions and make you hate something before you've even seen it.
The bar I've set for Disney is "Does it seem like the show hates my guts?" I follow a number of writer-critics on Youtube and they make great critiques that I wouldn't have come up with on my own. But that doesn't make me hate a show before I've seen it. I can look past bad writing if I don't feel like the writers of a show despise their audience. A couple examples, for contrast:

• She-Hulk: Dogshit show written by mean, talentless hacks who insert their sad selves into the characters and shit on the MCU and their audience.
Not gonna lie.... as much as I loved Tatiana Maslani in Orphan Black.... she had NO business in She-Hulk. Plus, the entire plotline was dumber than dog-shit. I couldn't get past the first episode, if I'm honest.

If you haven't seen Orphan Black.... You SERIOUSLY should! That show was outstanding!!! And that's a hill I'm willing to die on.

• Ms. Marvel: Didn't care for it, but it's also not for me. There were a few woke-ish elements that didn't really bother me. But you know what? The show was nice. Iman Vellani was simply endearing. Kamala's family was likable and tight-knit. You're taken around the world and even back in time to a pseudo-accurate real-world historical event. The show had a culture/identity that wasn't just neofeminism on steroids.
Honestly, I didn't even bother with it. It looked absolutely stupid just from the images I saw of it.

I really don't have a problem with "Woke" stuff, but leave established characters as they are, and just create new ones if you're looking for a more diverse audience. I had no issues whatsoever with the "Shazam" family (what used to be called the Captain Marvel family.... before all the BS with copyrights/trademarks nonsense years ago). They were established characters in the comics. Zero issues there, with me.

I never read anything that claimed the lesbian witches scissored, fucked, got nekkid, or any of it. No claim was made about any fucking, which brings me back to the earlier point of using the thread/force to conceive a child. It simply makes the Chosen One not...unique, at this point. They're heading it off, IMO, by introducing Plagueis at the end, witnessing the ritual, while he's skulking in a cave like some rat instead of the powerful individual he really was under Tenebrous' tutelage.
Either a woman did it first or a woman did it better. First: The witches in The Acolyte, The Timeless Child (Doctor Who). Better: She-Hulk, Rey.

It honestly only bothers me because it's a trend and often feels shoehorned rather than organic.
In some cases, you're right. The last few seasons of Dr. Who, I didn't even bother with. I didn't have a problem with Jodi Whitaker being cast, but the writing for her run was just shit. They lost me, there. RTD taking back over with the new Doctor.... I gave it a chance, but it didn't "grab" me, like I had hoped it might. Maybe Dr. Who needs another hiatus of about a decade. Like what happened previously. I mean, even the special with Tennant and Donna Noble was poorly written, and that's saying something. I love those two together!

Tom Baker was my "first" Doctor back in the 1970s.... and I've been a fan since.

Back to the Acolyte, though... I don't think anything was "Forced" (heh).... and maybe it's my own personal experience with Witchcraft that gives me either a different insight, or maybe a bias, that others who haven't delved into it may not have.

As Mother Anisae said, "It's about power, and who is ALLOWED to use it". To the Jedi, anyone who uses The Force in a way they don't approve of, is "bad/evil". Basically, consider the Jedi in this series to be the Christian religion. Anyone who practices religion another way (except for Jewish people, because Christianity is an offshoot of Judaism) are inherently "bad", if not outright "evil".

Tell me I'm wrong. But please, give a reason why I'm wrong.

Boy was groomed by the fbi and secret service. Practiced shooting at the same place the fbi and hs practiced. Secret service provided jfk protection for Trump. Gave this boy access to the roof. First time Trump had counter snipers at a rally. Dead men tell no tales. That is all.

You're saying he was groomed by the FBI and SS and even practiced shooting at the same place they did, yet with all that training he opted to A) Make a poor choice to go for a headshot and B) He sucked enough to miss what should have been an easy shot.

I guess the part where the police officer climbed up to stop the shooter doesn't fit into your PhD thesis you fat fucking three-fingered moron. KYS.

EDIT: Much love and respect to all. <3

I'll direct your attention to the Kursk region. Specifically, the destruction of the bridge over the Seym River at Glushkovo. Two more bridges across the Seym to take out and that's another ~1,000 km/sq cut off from the rest of Russia. Meanwhile, Russia is flailing, unsure whether to divert resources from the other fronts and points of contact.

Domestically, it's a humiliation for Putin. He can't hide a shitstorm of this magnitude behind propaganda.

They already lost. They're sending women, the elderly and the mentally handicapped to the front lines. Reports of the average age of the Ukraine armed forces vary between 40 and 48.

There is no version of this where Ukraine wins. The blood is on NATO's hands. They provoked.

The power of one....
The power of two....
The power of maaaaannnnnnyyyy...

Got this fucking show canceled. And before you go to racism, sexism or some bullshit, it comes down to viewership, and it didn't have it.

It's going to get the Willow treatment soon, get scrubbed and maybe, finally, Disney will just start making good content and stop with the DEI shit.

Did not see this. Sorry. So my question is, what’s the play with taking the Kursk region? You say Putin can’t hide behind the embarrassment. I don’t believe Putin is embarrassed. I believe Putin believes he still retains the initiative.

Is this more than a morale boost / PR win? Undermine domestic support?

We do see Russia getting a taste of its own medicine, Ukraine using glide bombs, but are we delivering enough of them to make a difference? I highly doubt Ukraine will receive more than Russia can produce.

I would like to see the fighting stop now, for everybody’s sake.

I’d put the odds of Russia collapsing before Ukraine at like, %25

Putin will be dead in under 2 years. I'm still convinced he has a medical issue.

So will Western Ukraine. There is no way to a compromise will take place. Will be interesting to see how this unfolds. I don't think a nuclear war will breakout. It's end game for humanity, and everyone knows that.

I don’t believe western Ukraine is under threat, I don’t believe Putin wants to govern it. I think the initial invasion was basically meant to scare away the Zelenskyy government, install a puppet friendly / not hostile to Russia, but then Ukraine (valiantly) fought back.

The balance of power between Ukraine and Russia has apparently grown. Russia’s economy is apparently growing, if not booming. Their defense spending has increased, their industrial base is fired up producing an endless supply of artillery, drones, glide bombs.

I don’t see how invading Kursk changes those fundamental realities. Draws attention away from those realities.

Putin might have a health condition as evidenced by his fat face (steroids?) but he looks like he has more than two years left in him .

Even then, the next argument is: who would replace him, would they be better or worse? If Putin died would Russia stop? I don’t think so.
