There is an IQ spectrum of 10 to 80 for people with political opinions, based on the partial truths that both sides push onto their news networks. The "pride" that gamers "feel" about their place on that chart is embarrassing. It's like striving to be an idiot.
I'm no different, I have light feelings due to the Joe Rogan interviews which I feel are a rare neutral platform. But I'm quick to zoom out to realize that taking any of this into a context beyond entertainment is an attempt to drop my 130 IQ down to 50.
If I dedicated 5hours of news watching daily across all networks, I would likely be confident that I know mostly about what is going on in the world which would of course be highly inaccurate. There's better things I or others could be doing with their time. There's nobody with an IQ of 110+ that knows 90% of what is going on, unless they have classified access & intentionally ignore the news to remove political bias.
I'm not voting yet again, and while it might be unpopular I completely agree politics don't belong in-game.

^3 digit IQ post. I enjoyed the "taking any of this into a context beyond entertainment" gem.
I know someone who literally just watches podcasts all day. At any given time, chances are this person is either recently unemployed or recently employed at a new job from which you can bet the farm he'll be out of within six months. It's hard for him to keep a job because he has this intense FOMO (fear of missing out) when it comes to news and politics. He's a rare example of someone I agree with on politics 99% of the time but cannot stand because all he can talk about is politics and he thinks because he spends all his time listening to the news and podcasts, basically living in his own echo chamber, that he is somehow more informed. He also listens to that cringe MAGA rapper.
I too enjoy Joe Rogan. I enjoy the non-boilerplate 3 hour format where the guest gets to talk a lot about certain things. As opposed to, "let's hear your thoughts on the Middle East in 30 seconds... GO!" Joe Rogan also isn't some schmuck who went to journalism school. He has field experience that largely contributed to the brand he has built for himself. I have mad respect for that. But, like you said, things like these tilt more on the entertainment side of things. I think a good example is the Joe Rogan interview of RFK Jr. versus reading his book on Fauci. The former tilts more toward entertainment while the latter tilts more towards something informative.
