It's a laughable conviction and it's going to get overturned and I think you know that.

I mean, I've already mentioned we're better off with Trump, relative to our other options.

Trump was still a horrible option, and we won't necessarily be well off.

At a time when inflation was a core election subject, do you support the tariffs against China (10%) and Mexico and Canada (25%) which will almost certainly fuel inflation?

Asking for a friend.
Nope. I've never 100% supported everything a President does, and in his case, says. I will always be opposite anything X says because he's a mosquito.

While I believe Trump is likely annoyed with the stupid questions, and getting grilled when they wouldn't dare ask Biden anything hard or off script, his snarky response here would have been better served with either 'no' or 'I will be meeting with the families individually and letting rescue/recovery do their jobs without it turning into a circus by me being there.' Or something like that.

What he did with Colombia was fine, but I haven't been able to read much on why he's doing this with Canada/Mexico, only that he's doing it. I had a couple of long days at work, so my time here was just enough to comment something to the Albanian pissant and move on. So, without knowing the alleged 'why', I can't comment aside from saying I don't see how this is a good idea right now. I don't give a shit about Mexico, but in the case of Canada, in a few months they're likely to have Polievre in office, and I'd rather not be in a pissing match with him already.

Obviously, some of Trump's EO's I support, some are WTF and the rest sit in 'meh' space. By that token, not much, if anything, Biden did I supported. The last 4 years were a mental health shit show and undoing that, I'm in support of.

Unfortunately, Trump also has obvious mental health issues, so when we're wasting time renaming the Gulf, I have to wonder if he's just being a dick, or if he's trying to circumvent one of Biden's EO's on drilling, or a little of both. Of course, it could be to get people talking about that, but not paying attention to other shit. Government loves it's bait and switch.

Yes, I agree that he was a terrible option, but still better than Harris. The DNC is so fucked up, they don't want to see that, they still want to blame the loss on misogyny and racism instead of taking a good hard look at themselves like some left leaning pundits have suggested they do. If they're going to cling to calling anyone that opposes them a racist or any of the other identity terms they have in their bag, the divide will continue.

The RNC is also a mess because they've lost their way as well. They have no balls and they're just MAGA now. I'm not MAGA. No Trump political signs, nothing about him on my FB, no flags; I'm a Reagan Republican, which has its own issues sure, but there's nothing in D party right now at all. I'm cast aside by them; white, straight and male. Right, wrong, or indifferent, at least Trump is doing some things that I've wanted to see that Biden/Harris absolutely did not and would not do. People cry because of the far Right, but ignore just how damaging the far left is (or even want to deny it exists). Moderate liberals and conservatives are a dying breed, and they need to make a comeback if we want to shore up the divide. I've mentioned Bill Maher a few times...years ago I hated his politics, but now, he and I don't think that much differently.

At any rate, term limits for congress would be a nice start to fixing a number of problems. Whoever it was that suggested changing the 22nd Amendment should be voted out, censured, impeached, recalled, even shot.

Why would he want that overturned? It literally solidifies his name in the history books as THE only PotUS to have "beaten the system". He will suffer no penalties for it, and we both know it.

Because no one wants a false conviction on their record. What do you think he wants more: A unique label, or to be shown to have been right on the lawfare that was committed.

You and I both know he always wants to be proven right.

Possibly, but by having beat the system (even WITH a "false" conviction (and we'll just leave that up to historians, alright?) on his record), he also wants "distinction". Plus, any actual good he does (which, of course, depends on your point of view) will be magnified by having beat the system.

I still think the asshole is going to tank the economy, fuck over the middle class (what is left of it), fuck over everyone REALLY struggling (which will increase homelessness), and consolidate as much power as he can.

But we'll see if I'm right or wrong, won't we.

He has the distinction of being the first 2 term president in a number of years (I'm not looking it up) to not be consecutive terms. I mean, he has a number of distinctions, I think he'd be okay having a false conviction overturned and having the distinction of being the first former President to be wrongfully convicted of crimes by the use of state sponsored lawfare.

And you meant 'tank the economy more'. There are a number of things that Biden's presidency did that are affecting us today and still, that you've turned around and are now putting on Trump. He was wrong for saying 'on day one'. You can't kill millions of chickens for bird flu and then be surprised the price of eggs hasn't fallen yet. In Michigan, it was their desire to have 'cage free' eggs, which the rules of supply and demand will dictate the price.

I like your replies and genuine-ness.

I don't have a retort. I did not vote. I am not happy Trump is president. I am happy we're in talks to end the war in Ukraine, and taxes probably won't go up.

I feel I owe you a more material reply.

Let's be clear on something, shall we? I never said Biden was a great president, just better than Trump. I did like the fact that he stayed out of the public eye unless he had to, and surrounded himself with people who could offer him..... you know... "SOUND" advice on situations he needed to make decisions on, rather than ass-kissing "Yes" men.

Both Biden and Trump are suffering from decreasing brain activity, and that's a problem.

Personally, I think Biden should have stepped down after his second year. He still could say "I was PotUS"... but let's be honest here, a lot of people would have lost their minds over him doing that, because it would have defacto "installed" a black woman as PotUS.... and the claim would have been made (possibly with some merit) that "That was the plan all along!"

My thinking on that is that it would have given Harris a chance to prove herself capable as PotUS, and if she wasn't... she could be Primaried with plenty of time to spare.

At this point, Trump may not make it through his term. As much as I despise him as a human being, I don't wish harm to come to him. I just believe that his cognitive abilities will fail him before it's over, and either he'll be forced to step down, die in office (of natural causes), or the 24th Amendment will be invoked.

One way or the other, we need to keep anyone over 75 away from that office in the future, and I don't give a fuck what party they are with.

Gaba — who I'd say is liberal or slightly left of center — is maybe the only person here who takes my side when I'm bucking the dogma of the Democratic Party and saying a lot of the stuff you'd agree with.

The "convicted felon" talk from him seems like trolling. But I could be wrong.

Sometimes when I say 'you' it's less about you directly and more about you leaning more left (which you do). I realize you've said little to nothing on this subject since the 20th, so I apologize for my use of 'you'.

That said, Biden was laughable...he stayed out of the public eye all right. Stayed out to the point that it's certainly possible he wasn't running the show, but whatever. Half the time I wasn't sure he was still alive. I don't think anyone in the history of that office stayed more out of the public eye than Biden.

We're going to differ on this, but I don't think he was better than Trump. This time around 77m people felt the same. Part of that was Harris, sure, but part was not wanting more of the same. I also believe people have grown tired of DEI, identity politics, and the mental health issues of the blue haired alphabet mafia. The DNC can't seat board members without arguing about race and gender, with the NB folks crying about representation. What a shitshow and it was cringe watching clips of that today.

Sound advice?? Did you look at the fucking circus he surrounded himself with? They want to bitch about the FAA, and the head of it under Biden didn't know shit about fuck when it came to aviation. They turned away numbers of qualified ATC candidates because of their lack of pigmentation or the wrong gender. They've been short of ATC's for a number of years now. I suppose if Biden wanted to know about butt fucking in congress or how to cross dress, he's in good hands.

I like Trump's cabinet and other picks a lot more this time around. I've watched a little bit of some of the confirmations, and the Dem side is nothing but talking over, shouting and posturing during their time ranged from annoying to hilarious. Bernie should have sat out the RFK hearing...jesus.

And just stop about Harris...stop. Damn. She already has proven herself to be a bumblefuck, no shot she was going to 'improve'. And be primaried? That's funny...considering they should have primaried Biden, didn't, should have had a primary when he dropped out, but ended up with Harris on a technicality, and lost 'bigly'. There's enough articles out there with admissions they knew Biden was fucked, but wouldn't admit it at the time. Fucked enough that I think he and Jill actually voted for Trump. Harris polled so bad previously, that I really don't get how the Dem's got behind her like they did.

I think you're wrong on all three. He'll get propped up and pushed to the end, just like Biden did. If not, it's fine...I'm okay with JD. My only reservation about him relates to his ties to Ohio, cos fuck Ohio. You should like him too, he's under 75 by a mile. Still, once Trump is gone, I hope they move away from Maga and get back to conservativism.

I'm ready for the Epstein client list to be released. I know everyone wants Trump to be on it, but if he was, they'd have released that part of it, even if they had to sacrifice some of their own.

It's not just Biden, it's the modern-day Democrat politician. Once you see all the slimy ways they hang onto power and manipulate their voter base, you can never unsee it.

Trump is in power and guess who's vocal about Medicare for All again: Bernie Sanders

Trump is in power and guess who's more critical of Biden than she's been in the last four years: AOC

Trump is in power and guess what: The economy sucks. All of a sudden, the economy sucks.

In short, when you've seen what I have on a daily basis, you'll realize that the Democrats in power DESPISE their base. They think every lie they tell is a noble lie. They think they're morally good by shitting on the people who are trying to enact anything more than superficial change.

The real Left understands that class issues transcend partisan politics. The progressive Left buys into all the DEI bullshit. Under threat of a second term of President Mean Tweets, the progressive Left is a-ok with a flagrant racist who's been a Washington fixture for 50+ years, who co-wrote the first draft of what is now the Patriot Act, who is responsible for jailing an absurd amount of black Americans, who fought to remove bankruptcy protection for college students paying unconscionable tuition fees, who not only voted for but CHEERLEADED the Iraq War movement that resulted in the deaths of arguably a million Iraqis and who helped slaughter a generation of men in Ukraine.

Gonna trim this down a bit, make it easier to follow the current part. :)

On social issues, I do tend to lean left. But I also lean right on many other issues. That's why I consider myself a moderate. I've been staying "under the radar" on all of this, because the thread(s) got very toxic, and honestly, I've got some "real world" shit to deal with that I'm honestly not happy about (dying dog, health issues of my own). I still read the threads, though.

That said, Biden was laughable...he stayed out of the public eye all right. Stayed out to the point that it's certainly possible he wasn't running the show, but whatever. Half the time I wasn't sure he was still alive. I don't think anyone in the history of that office stayed more out of the public eye than Biden.
Fine, allow me to reword it: Qualified people in positions. People with experience in the field. Not just some ass kisser who will do whatever floats the president's boat.

Well, you're right about the voter count. I'm not an election denier, nor did I even want to storm the Capital to try and overturn it.

DEI isn't exactly what you think it is. While there IS some truth to what the extreme right is saying, it's not as pervasive as one might believe. What you're hearing (mostly) is the extreme right echoing (in the reverse) of what the extreme left is bitching about. And both of those are what I would refer to as "the lunatic fringe". Most progressives simply want a level playing field, and to correct the imbalances within the system starting at the ground level.

What is the ground level? Basically, education. Public education (can't really do anything about private schools unless they receive federal funding). It is a stone cold fact that economically depressed areas have shittier schools. Mostly due to funding (there are other factors, though). But consider, there are still "smart" kids in those areas who are essentially neglected and unable to rise to their potential. What should we do about it? By "we", I mean "society".

For the record, I don't mean only black, inner city areas. There are plenty of rural white areas that also fit that description. Both should be elevated.

That last line is pure ignorance, and you know it. But drop me a citation on your "head of the FAA not knowing shit about aviation", please. As well as "turning away qualified ATC candidates" for whatever reason.

I like Trump's cabinet and other picks a lot more this time around. I've watched a little bit of some of the confirmations, and the Dem side is nothing but talking over, shouting and posturing during their time ranged from annoying to hilarious. Bernie should have sat out the RFK hearing...jesus.
I haven't watched any of the hearings, because I already know what's going to happen. I don't need the headaches.

Quite an incredible clip, posting the full clip which was only on Fox as the 5minute edited clip from cnn was crazy short.

Mostly Elon Musk but also some Trump speak about the DOGE and more details about the corruption & possibly $1 trillion of wasted funds on camera. Interesting topics! $100-$200 billion a year being sent to foreign fraudsters on do not pay lists. Huge amounts of fraud going unchecked for decades. Now we're talking their word for it, but let's be real - we all know there's massive corruption in government with lazy citizens waiting around for reporters to find it which isn't happening.

https://www.foxnews.com/video/6368671861112

Elon Musk is very smart & it's amusing to listen to the double digit IQ reporters "attempt" to ask smart questions & fail. I found this to be one of the best clips I've seen in a long while. I like Elon even more after watching the whole clip.

Now Trump's done so many retarded things in 2025 from doing two crypto scams to stopping pennies from being minted (possibly nickels soon too) to renaming the gulf of mexico (with the president of mexico attempting a stupid joke/reply in response to Trump). To even Trump wanting to buy Greenland, like he's been doing some bat shit crazy stuff. But the amount of corruption in government & politicians owning over $50 million on their tiny salary at the expense of Americans NEEDS to end & Elon seems to be on it. If America becomes less shit due to Elon's huge financial changes in government, that'll be such a massive improvement. Sure, that work will likely get undone over the next 15-40 years with new politicians, but inflation & national debt are getting dangerously high.

It's fucking crazy how much cnn & bloomberg and other outlets are really upset about ending corruption. USAID sounds like it is a huge nest of corruption, and yet left news outlets show pictures of orphans crying next to a USAID sign invoking fear/anger on the reader towards Trump.

There is a bit of a conflict of interest throughout this whole thing, there should be a secondary independent group working alongside Elon/Trump with a goal of enforcing transparency & removing conflicts of interest in realtime, but the muppet reporters can't possibly think of this because their news chatgpt hasn't suggested it yet. I understand some people don't trust Trump or Elon but my god no reporter can ask a single smart question on that topic.
