There goes the country. It was a total no-brainer how Brown, Sotomayor, and Kagan would vote. I'd say it was also obvious how Roberts and Barrett would vote. All Roberts cares about is defending SCOTUS as an institution and looking good for the left. All he did was change the "and" to an "are" in the "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof..." Way to go buddy, you just completely fucked over the whole country. Barrett with her adopted Haitian kids made it pretty obvious how she would vote. You have to wonder what was going on in Trump's mind nominating her.
You got to love Kavanaugh with his Talmudry. "The executive order was unlawful, but my actual interpwetation (sic) of the 14th amendment is that it doesn't apply to people born to people in the country illegally." It is beyond hysterical with Kavanaugh thinking Congress can somehow fix this.
So there you have it. You can have some North Korean lady high up in intelligence, enter the US, queef out a baby, who is now a US citizen, and can now do all kinds of mischief a few years later. "Don't say that! That's racist!"
It will be funny in another 20, 10, maybe even as little as 5 years when the country is overrun by third worlders the likes of Roberts, Barrett, and Kavanaugh will be on Fox News and be all, "at least we stood by our principles!" The funny thing is, even the guy who wrote the 14th amendment said it wasn't meant to be for the children of diplomats or aliens. So much for original intent.
The country is essentially run by judges. SCOTUS is essentially a legislature, an upper-upper house. | |

The 14th Amendment constitutionalized the citizenship rule established in the Civil Rights Act of 1866. The same Congress enacted both within months of each other, the act is persuasive evidence that "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" was understood as equivalent to "not subject to any foreign power." aka former slaves who did not have a country.
Anyone using the bogus geographical jurisdiction argument has to provide evidence that that was what was intended by the same Congress who wrote the 1866 civil rights act.
The Justices are frauds because they know this.

Approximately 33 countries extend unconditional birthright citizenship to children born within their borders, regardless of whether the parents are legal residents, tourists, or illegal immigrants. Most nations are located in the Western Hemisphere.
ALLOW:
USA/Canada/Mexico.
There are 7 countries in Central America.
Then 10 countries in South America.
Also 10 countries in Caribbean Nations.
And just 3 countries in Africa & Oceania.
DO NOT ALLOW:
Over 160 countries do not allow birthright citizenship to illegal immigrants. Instead requiring at least one parent be a citizen, permanent resident or legal resident. That strict exclusion is the standard legal policy across most of Europe, Asia, Africa & the middle east. | |

Angry protesters convince themselves that most countries have open borders which isn't true.
Also they want people fleeing from a dangerous situation (from another country) to just be allowed into the United States, even if they just sneak in illegally. They have no clue how the legal immigration steps work that vet people & make sure they're not a criminal, rapist or worse.
It's quite a stupid idea to allow any child born here to automatically become a citizen considering how a large majority of countries don't blindly operate that way. It's different if one parent is a citizen, but if the other is an illegal immigrant then they've committed a crime just by being here and will potentially be in danger of having their family torn apart.
It's not the United State's responsibility to take in the failing cultures/laws/currencies of stupid or dangerous countries where people are fleeing for their lives or that just want free shit. | |

So, tell us about birthright citizenship in Albania.
Why do you feel that the US should grant citizenship to a child born on US soil to parents who are not citizens themselves? I would concede to what Albania does where at least one parent was a citizen, as that makes sense. It just doesn't make sense to confer citizenship to someone just because they were birthed here.
But, for the Supreme Court allegedly being controlled by Trump, they sure have ruled 'bigly' against him recently. So, is there a need to pack the court still, or no? | |
