Hey Johnny sorry to hear about everything, and I do not blame you, taking a break from this game was a great idea. We all do miss you as you were a great player and a team player. Best wishes and prayers to you and your family.

Glad you're doing so well already. You sure you don't wanna come back to TFC? Chilling with Reddog once a day keeps the doctor away!

Real life can be a huge bitch at times. Considering Johnny's predicament, I would rather see him stay out of TFC for the sake of his health.

The ironic bit is that you'd stroked several times a day since your teenage years and it'd never been a problem before.

:D

Dude - I'm sorry, it's a bitch. My Aunt had a massive stroke at 28, total paralysis down one side, and speech issues for life. Dad used to have lots of 'little' strokes - impaired his memory and balance. I'm delighted you're making such good progress - between that, lifestyle changes and Warfarin(?), you should be in safe hands.

So I put notice in at work that I'm going to pull the plug and move on to the next phase of my life. After my stroke, we decided to move up our retirement plans. We are buying a place on Vancouver Island - Comox to be exact - so we're getting ready to move, within the next year. My dad is pretty sick and he's only an hour away so it's nice being so close to him and mom, hard to balance all these things with our plans My current employer is awesome and they are fully supporting my decision and helping any way they can. It's a 16 hour drive so I'm selling our motor home and pretty much everything else so that we can put everything into a uhaul van. I've still got my Subaru WRX to sell too as we don't need 3 vehicles, currently we both have Subaru Foresters, my wife has a 2011 Forester and I have a 1997 JDM Forester, which is the japanese spec Forester with turbo 285 hp engine, RHD.; it has a measly 56,600 kilometres, in awesome shape. I'll put some links up to Comox where we're moving, it's beautiful there. Here's my Forester, imported from the land of the rising sun:

Wow Johnny that's an amazing story and I'm glad that it's turning out okay. I've also taken a break from playing the game for a while because I thought perhaps it was adding to my overall stress levels and my wife agrees. There are other stressful things going on in my life right now that don't need any further elevation. What I miss the most is the in game team work and interaction with people I've gotten to know on the server.

I hear ya Wally, I miss the social interaction with the people here too, more than the actual game. Do whatcha gotta do, sounds like you're where you should be!

Nice looking car! Is the steering wheel on the wrong side?

Sounds like you are making some good moves. I wish I lived closer to my parents (I'm about 6 hours away). Can't wait to see the new digs. I wish we were closer, I have been dreaming of getting a motor home but the budget says no, right now. Good luck and keep us updated!

Good luck, Johnny. Moving on to new phases can be a bit overwhelming. Being close to family is important. I've been turning down job offers (for a lot better money) because my wife and I live about 30 minutes away from my parents who are getting older and need some help.
