Viewed a ton of streams where they've played the game. Pretty cool for a 3 dollar game made 2 or 3 years ago. I haven't bothered getting it though.

Okay, let me go ahead and put this out there:

I had never heard of this game, until just the other day. I had been up in the computer room and Katina was watching the WWE Network down in the living room. I go downstairs, and there's a show on with 4 WWE Superstars playing a game with 4 popular "live streamers". They were playing "Among Us". I shook my head dismissively, sat down, and started making cigarettes.

Within a few minutes of watching this "live stream" based show of these 8 people playing the game... I was interested. It looked like fun. So I made note of the game, and looked it up when I could.

The main game was/is on sale for $3.99(until Jan 5, 2021), and has some DLC that isn't really needed to play, but can differentiate your character from others. With all of the bonus stuff, you're still only paying $12 while it's on sale. Like I said, that stuff isn't NEEDED to play/win. It's cosmetic stuff only.

So, for $4, you get an interesting game that is pretty much multiplayer only(4-10 players), and only contains a few maps.

Yes, it's a couple of years old... but it's only now hitting it's stride in popularity. I not only bought it for myself, but I bought it for my "brother from another mother" Mike, so that we could hopefully play together sometime.

Come to find out, my son has the game, and so does Mike's son. Hopefully, I can get it organized that the 4 of us can play together.

It's also "cross platform" game play, and you can download it for free on your mobile device. The trade off there, is you have ads to deal with on the mobile versions. I hear that they are working on "modern console" ports for both the PS5 and X-Box.

I have heard that this game's popularity is exploding right now. I'm not normally one to jump on a bandwagon like this, but this game is really FUN to play. Well, as long as you can find a group of players who understand HOW to play it.

The general gist is this: There are between 4 and 10 of you on this map(I'm sticking with the space ship one until I learn it's full layout), and between 1 and 3 of you(server side setting) are "Impostors". Their job is to sabotage the ship, and kill off the crew, while remaining "hidden" in plain sight. Everyone else is a member of The Crew, who have to perform tasks to keep the ship running, and try and figure out who the Impostors are.

Your job as Crew members doesn't end upon your death. While you can no longer communicate with the Crew, you CAN still perform tasks to keep the ship running. You can also see how the survivors are doing with figuring out who the Impostors are. When a body is discovered, or if someone calls for an "Emergency Meeting", a discussion is held(text chat) where suspects are pointed out, and voted on. If someone is voted "out", they are pushed out an airlock. Depending on the server settings, it MAY be revealed if they were an Impostor or not. Then the game continues.

Even dead Impostors can still cause havoc via sabotage. But they, like the dead crew, can NOT communicate with the living. They can, however, communicate with other dead players.

The game ends when either the ship is destroyed, there are no more Crew left alive, or all of the Impostors have been identified and shoved out the airlock.

There's a mod for the game so that the players can have proximity chat, which adds a little flavor. Not sure what the 'range' is, but when your character gets closer to another, you can hear each other talking.

Of course, the dead still can't speak, but my understanding is it recognizes you're dead, and allows you to talk to other dead/ejected players.

Fortnite, while always looking to capitalize on something, has someone who made a mode in creative that is among us. That wasn't nearly as interesting as regular among us though.

DrLupo plays the game on occasion, but Corpse Husband, Valkrae and Sweet Anita play often.

I watch alot of twitch, mainly DrLupo and mainly Escape From Tarkov, but I've enjoyed the Among Us streams.

I think it's really neat that you can still do tasks after you're dead, and not just sitting in a viewing area, or worse.... just waiting for the next match to start. That's a small detail, but a very welcome one, in my eyes.

Game is garbage and so are the people who play it.

Edit: game is trendy, not that fun, and gets repetitive after a few plays. I'd been hearing about it for months and got it in my phone and iPad and was not impressed. Have no played the steam version but I can't imagine it being that better.

Currently playing HADES on steam, that's more like it.

Maybe it's not fun for you, Illusion... but I really enjoy the game.

I bought it for the PC, but I also downloaded it onto my phone last night. It's a different experience between the two. PC is much easier to control.

I've got 6 hours of playtime in so far, and I've learned a LOT about the game in that time. It's both simple, yet complex. Easy, but difficult.

I have to say that the people I've found to play with were very helpful on my first night playing. There was a lot I had no idea how to do, and because I explained that I had literally bought the game just a few hours before, they were good enough to explain the basics to me. Voting was the first really important thing. I think because I put their instructions to use immediately, they knew I wanted to actually learn. That opened the floodgates on information.

Then I watched a few YouTube videos for further tips and tricks. I've even figured out a few on my own.

Getting into a game can take a while, and if I have one criticism of the game, it's that. But I also know that the devs are working on that.

Because the game is exploding in popularity right now, they are putting in a lot of effort to make the game better.

I'm looking to get a group together to play, because once a room is set up, a code can be sent to people for them to join that room. That should keep the number of Randos down.

Recently purchased Hades. I enjoy it, though I find Dead Cells to be more enjoyable.

There are gamers out there that would make this dude their bitch, that are taking time out to play this simple ass game because.....here's the shocker....they have fun.

Gaming isn't about being good (why Iggy still plays), it's about having fun. The gaming scene is sweaty as fuck anymore...

Gaming shouldn't be sweaty unless it's ranked. In CoD, they do Skill Based Match Making.

It sucks.

It's fine if I play alone...matches are fun and competitive and I'm near the top in TDM when I play.

If a certain friend of mine shows up, it becomes something else...something evil. Those fuckers are sweaty, like they're all using modded controllers and shit.

If some of my friends join me, it stays fine for me, even at times more than, but becomes worse for them. It sucks.

I liked the days where 'you win some, you lose some' and you might get in a lobby with newbs, or you might get that lobby of hormone driven teenage try hards.

Then there's Warzone...a whole new level of sweat.

It's unnecessary gate-keeping by people that now have a microphone when they really shouldn't. Not too different from politics, sadly.
