Looking for insight/information/recommendations for pain. I can't take narcotics forever, but some claim CBD oil has knocked out some pain with no side effects. Work says CBD is okay as long as it doesn't have THC (even though it's legal in Michigan, it's not Federally so we're still prohibited from using).

PT is kicking my ass and I want something to at least dull the pain, especially at night so I can crash (I haven't slept much in months).

Thanks in advance.

I use Lazarus Naturals cBD tinctures for my fucked up knees. I think it helps, Advil is terrible for your stomach.

Hate to say it but I'm not much of a CBD guy, preferring higher THC with a milder balance of CBD to take the edge off anxiety.

And to be totally honest, I can't say I've ever experienced any pain relief effects from cannabis or any of its derivatives. Anecdotally, it does help with nausea (something of a chronic problem), at least for me.

"Anecdotally, it does help with nausea"

I can vouch for that. When Rose was going through her chemo treatments, the nurses noted that she was the only patient of theirs who actually GAINED weight during treatment.

My experience with CBD is rather limited... Pot worked better on me, but as I've noted before, I can't "smoke and drive".

Opioids and alcohol, yeah, I'm fine behind the wheel(because I know my tollerances). Weed? Nope. Just can't do it.

For me, CBD didn't actually take away the pain, but it made me really not care that it was there.

I love CBDs, and am happy to help. I use it fairly regularly, for different things.

Depending on where the pain is, there are two good paths forward for you:

1) Creams / salves / balms - basically the same as any other bottle of cream, mixed with CBD to be used as a topical. This is really good for the parts of your body where there's not a lot of dense tissue. I use a hand salve because I've been cracking my knuckles forever and it helps with the hand pain / discomfort.

2) (I think better for you) Tinctures - little droplets of CBD oil that you take whenever appropriate. They come mixed with different things, for different purposes. E.G. lavender for sleepytime, etc. The quality varies from vendor to vendor, and tinctures have different dosages per-drop, which you need to pay attention to when evaluating for cost.

I buy through these folks, because they usually have deals, and I really like the products they offer https://cbd.inscape.life/
They have a package deal on sale now, of a product I have used, and like
https://cbd.inscape.life/collections/all-products/products/p...
Plant People is a good quality product, though I find their tinctures to taste a little earthy.

Liquid Sky is also a really good product, at a great price point https://cbd.inscape.life/collections/tinctures/products/liqu...
What I'd recommend is finding a vendor that has a CBD drink, and see how that goes for you. It's as good of an intro as any, and has a way-cheaper price point to see how it feels. If you can, I 100% recommend this drink - it's delicious, and super effective https://minibardelivery.com/store/product/vybes-blueberry-mi...
Edit - I use tinctures to help my general anxiety. Takes 30m to kick in, and lasts for 4-6h. Does wonders for me when I'm feeling restless, or knowing I'll be heading into crowds with lots of overwhelming sounds.

Gotcha, thanks. It's the shoulder/AC joint and bicep tendon. Trying to find something before they take my cryo machine away in another couple of weeks. Mainly want to nix the pain, but definitely would like to sleep (which I might do if my arm didn't move).

Probably can't do the drink since it's got THC in it. I mean, right now it's no big deal (IMO), but certainly when I go back to work it could be an issue, not just a policy violation.

I guess I also never realized what it costs. You'd certainly not want to waste it.

    Re: Location
Creams should be a good trial since it's isn't something like a femur.

Re: THC
They're trace amounts, not sure how stringent your place is, though 0% psychoactivity.

Re: Cost
Certainly not cheap. That said, a bottle of tincture (get the 1500mg, even if it's more expensive) lasts me quite a while.

Also, don't waste your money on CBD coffee or CBD soap, or anything gimmicky. It won't do anything, and you'll walk away thinking you'll have dropped $ for nothing.

Cool, thanks. Probably trace won't be so bad...they don't give guidance on it, and certainly they haven't determined what ng is 'above the limit' here yet.

I appreciate the advice!

Had surgery in November for an AC separation, bone spur and apparently fucked up my bicep tendon along the way. I had an incident with slippery steps to fuck all this up.

I had started a thread on this over the summer. I have learned that it is SO different for each person. I have found CBD oil to do almost nothing for me. I take a whole dropper full of Lazarus Full spectrum - nothing.

What HAS worked for me is adding 2 mg of pure THC pills. But this is hard to get.

With low expectations is how I've always recommended it to my friends. Might help with relaxation and pain; it might not. I never considered it a panacea, but it's a supplement to help with what I'm already taking medication for.

Though it is expensive, the place I order from offers 50% off to military, police, EMTs and firefighters, which isn't bad.
