I'm starting to wonder if investing in a UPS on-line unit would be smart too. The nice ones convert the power from AC to DC and back to AC to give an ultra pure clean consistent amount of power free from any ripples or noise. They cost around $400 though and up.

Going to ignore the cheaper common UPS units that just give you a simulated sine wave when running off the battery, otherwise you get the same electricity as off the wall. Surge protectors don't do much unless an actual surge occurs and bullshit marketing like conditioners are all scam terms. You have reverse polarity, harmonics, frequency variation, sag or brownout, bad power factor, overcurrent, high voltage, open safety ground, EMC/EMI, blackout, noise, high current spikes, flicker, RFI or floating neutral. Things like your refrigerator's compressor coming on to your neighbor running power tools or who knows how much line noise arrives at a gaming computers setup. Overclocking and ultra fine ripples in latencies might need a more consistent and stable power then most lines have.

Was looking for somethign to handle high graphical loads for work, but couldn't find anything until I realized I was searching wrong and ended up looking at gaming laptops. Old one lasted 7 years before it burned out, new one is an MSI Pulse GL66. 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H 2.70 GHz and a gforce RTX 3070, upped the RAM to 64 gigs, which I think makes all the difference. Runs all the older games I tend to play at max quality. Night and day compared to the ancient tower setup I last used for gaming (no need to upgrade when TFC was basically all I used it for). Monitor can hit 144 Hz and the fps upping someone showed me a few years ago has really made a difference to smoothness, especially considering toughing it out early on with shitty server connections and 20 fps. Cool specs on the other systems. The only think I'm in the market for is a new mouse if anyone has any suggestions. My scroll wheel is going on the razer deathadder I have. My favorite mouse was probably the original microsoft optical one, that bulky gray thing. I feel like all the thumb buttons on the new ones are at an awkward position.

From worst to best for gaming computers you have

Laptops: tiny fans that struggle to move lots of hot air. Attached screen is NEVER as good as a quality external gamers display designed for eSports.

mini-pc: Think 6inch by 6inch by 2.2inch using laptop parts but with a single big fan shoving air all around it. No screen included.

Desktop pc: Big fans, can buy quality parts for everything which leads to better stability & performance.

Processors are getting more cores & everything is using less power every generation. It's not in a gamers best interest when massive functions have been designed from the ground up with power saving features baked into almost every component with a laptop. Sure that low power on a laptop stuff is great for a person at college doing work on a battery.

I'll write up a mouse guide, show which mouse I bought last month and why. I feel like typing, lol.

Iggy, only come back if it's fun and you're ready. I didn't mean to push you out of recovery. Stay sane and happy :)

Nese, I appreciate your concern. But maybe this is the kind of thing I need to jumpstart me getting back into it.

I only did it for one round last night.... but y'all should be warned.... more is coming. I got to catch up.

Also, I was watching a habitual Respawn Spammer, though I only saw him do it once (which is what drew my attention in the first place). But the player name/ID has been noted.
