You also get access to the subsidiaries as well like Hulu owns crunchyroll which streams anime so you can watch crunchyroll content via Hulu. I’m sure max also owns other platforms thus leading to more value. | | Good points. My personal situation is that I'm in a complicated bartering scenario with various people in my life. I pay for Netflix, they pay for Hulu, I pay for O365, they pay for Disney+ and so on. Truth be told, I'd rather have none of the streaming services for the time being. T-Mobile does give me free access to Hulu with ads though, so maybe I'll use that.
So yeah, for years I've subscribed to O365, which gave me a plethora of PC installs of Microsoft Office to share with friends and family. (To anyone here: if we have some level of friendship/rapport on this site and you're broke and need access to O365 apps, I may be able to help you out.) I find it handy to have, but it means much more to the family member I'm sharing it with, and they've helped me out in the past, so I feel obligated to keep the subscription going. | | Buy the full version of whatever Office suit product you want. Many people only use Microsoft Word only. So you can buy that for like $20 from those semi-sketchy sites that sell cheap keys of windows 10/11 from them. The office subscription stuff is only if you need like literally all the different tools in the suite & are in need of the very latest edition for business use.
Also, there are so many people with a 4K tv incorrectly subscribed to a Netflix "standard" package, locking themselves to everything at 1080p & no HDR. They're limited to 2 devices playing at the same time. Even Xfinity runs promo's for a half off package, but buried deep in the fine print is that it's a "standard" plan.
Premium plan is 4K + HDR, Netflix has more Dolby Vision HDR content then any other platform, so their stuff looks fucking incredible on TV's that have DV!! Watch on 4 devices at the same time. Can add 2 extra members who don't live with you is included, they get their own password/login. While the premium plan is $7.50 more expensive then standard per month, having the picture quality go from the worst to the best compared to all the other streaming competition is worth it for a 4K tv.
Both plans can add an extra member slots to your account for $7.99 each per month too. Relatives should bundle eachother into one account to save money.

And I wanted the full suite just because, and to also be guaranteed the latest version.
I do buy gray licenses for Windows off of one particular site. Haven't had any licensing issues so far. Most of the licenses are for secondary or test machines or VMs, so for me to pay full price for each instance would be highway robbery.
