I was on pepper's team -- I can attest that this wasn't the case. We were down 4 players and the balancer was reading bad and messages were popping up about how out of a team of 12 any 12 of them could switch to balance out.
We were pounding the enemy defense but not getting anywhere because they were mostly on defense as well, had the number advantage and had the engie advantage.
Most of us were on offense, not defense. One person took out the 1 SG we had and took off with our flag. Shame on us and our team for not seeing the SG go down.
I saw it go down but just figured someone would have stopped them from grabbing the flag.
Im a negative asset to teams lately. My rocket launcher aim has been really off. I feel a lot of lag on my side of the game. Grenades thrown around corners visually on my side are blowing up in my face. Lots of shorted HH concs. | |

What wasn’t the case? His “feedback” from your team letting that cap up? The only thing I see that I would like (even though I may not get) some clarification on is what can you say about your team that isn’t considered whining? You guys made a cap the last 10 minutes and gg#4 in response to your “sass” I responded something along the lines of “We lost that cap for the same reason you guys did, mismanagement of team resources”. I mean it is true, we lost some people and we had people fucking around (myself included) and people going O and we forgot to compensate for D. And just like how your flag got capped by someone who isn’t / barely plays O, our flag got capped the same way (I think it was Melissa that snuck in uncontested and made it to the top spiral I believe?). Is the way I said considered “better”? I don’t think pepperjack was whining but that’s not my call, he was just being blunt and honest….if it was for the F G FG FG FG comment then that’s more of a joke because I say petty spam, panic prime, poverty spam, etc. sometimes and never got slapped for it (unless I will now for calling it out D= ) but every person from the lowest newb to the highest 1337 player here is so reliant on grenades its a part of life essentially. Don’t tell me no, I’ve seen EVERYONE here do it. The only reason I’m Jew about my grenades usage is because I do have some pride, I don’t want to be reliant on it, and also (mainly) when I first started playing this I noticed getting grenades meant waiting for the bag, time it right to walk into respawn/ resupply to get the bag, or die to get more grenades and it annoying to see someone empty their entire grenade inventory just to grab the bag and empty it again so I said fuck it I’ll ration what I have although lately I’ve given in and have more of a fuck it, if i cant beat them ill join them and have been FG FG FGFG lately. | |

Alright, let me help here:
Talking shit about your team (in general) in PubChat does nothing to help YOUR team, but helps the ENEMY team. Ergo: Whining.
Talking shit about your team (in general or specific) in TeamChat COULD help your team (but maybe not), but does not help the enemy team in any way. Ergo: Not Whining.

His statement that we had 9 on defense is false is what I was saying.
Yeah I dont get it either because I said "balancer" right after in response to peppers comment. Maybe I didnt get a whiner cause I only said one thing about it. Well aside from pointing out teams were uneven and people should even them up. Which I wouldnt consider that whining, just bringing awareness to the teams being off. Usually I will do !pubquality and make a comment. Havent gotten whinered for that yet and i've been doing that for a while now.
(2)Player (whoever that was that came to our team to balance it off) made comments about how people are too much of bitches to even teams off and also made comments about the balancer being bullshit. | |

I wasn't on last night, but I do want to clarify something else:
I was speaking above about generalities, and really, only applying my own application to whining, and again, in PUBCHAT. Teamchat is different, as is voicechat.
As far as THIS goes: Maybe I didn't get a whiner cause I only said one thing about it.
There's a good chance of that. Depending on the "level" of the whine, of course.
Speaking for myself, I'll let ONE go, as long as I don't see it as being detrimental to the team overall. Doesn't matter if I'm in Spec, on the team negatively affected, or the team positively affected by such information. | |

Yeah, frequency matters. If it was less than three distinct things he wined about back to back, it probably wouldn't have been a ban. Frequency can be long-term too, like a whine about something just once every night, but then doing it every night. Or if you can't play for 5 minutes without mentioning (complaining at that point) a ragequit.
As an aside, its very rare that people whining about 'nobody helping on O' or 'whole enemy team is d' are actually correct about it. Maybe 5% of the time that I've seen.
I've seen someone whine about being the only one on O when half their team was, and when a teammate was carrying the enemy flag when they said it. | |

We had 11 people at the time and you and I were the only two on Offense (clearly trying to advance and get the flag)
We had 9 other players on Defense at the time - our flag got grabbed and I heard someone (LG5150?) say that the flag is on the move after his sentry went down. I switched to soldier immediately after that to help hold the flag
It was at that point that I made my comments...

My criticism of the logic of "talking shit about your team in pub chat is an offense but it's less of an offense if you say it in team chat" is that...well...it's not very logical at all (in my opinion) | |

The best example is whining about teammates being infected in spawn. If you say it in pubchat, you tell the enemy medics who to infect to do the most damage. If you say it in teamchat, your team knows they could use a medic that cures and/or the infected person might realize they shouldn't be doing it.
Ideally instead of whining, one would switch to medic to heal them or try to help them directly (without calling them names) by explaining why its a bad idea.

It's discouraging to hear that in-game. One of the easiest indicators that you're not alone on O is hitting tab and seeing one or more people with 50+ deaths in the first half of the game.

Occasionally I get it wrong and as soon as I say something, *boom* somebody makes the first flag touch of the round. Hopefully I covered my ass by saying "we need more O" or "whatever we have is not enough" or "help brah/olinkapo/some_other_glutton_for_punishment." | |

I think the bigger issue with complaining about your team in pubchat is the chance of it starting a full-blown "Real Housewives of D2F" shouting match. | |

So, just to clarify...if somebody breaks the rules by running into spawn...it is now the responsibility of somebody else to fix that problem? Can't emphasize how many times I've said in chat and voice comm's "don't go into spawn when infected, you'll infect other people"

In an effort to "be nice and play by the rules"
So instead, I have to stop trying an objective (defending a flag), switch classes, heal someone, switch back, go back to Defense, and then if it happens again, repeat the process? | |

No, I was on that team, and gg is right. We were all offense. The reason no one got down the spiral when LG's gun went was no one was there. It sucked for us, but mad props to melissa (or whoever it was) that pulled that flag and the rest of the other team for bringing it home. Xeno's right too in that we overextended. Shoulda had another gun. Regardless, gg, and welcome back. | |

I don't see a rule saying don't enter the spawn while infected. Infections are part of the game.

Meanwhile, is it not that hard to just stay away from them? Sure, I know they're annoying, but let them know on voice chat, and report. It was the pub comments that were the problem. IDing for the other team who the news are for targeting is a valid point. | |
