What else was Britain busy with in Europe with at the time? We're they also at war with the French at that time?

As much as I hate to say this and admit that this typical arrogant brit is right, I voted "no." There's a reason Franklin is on the $100 bill and that's because he was regaling the French court and drowning his cock in cunts of countesses on the French court. "Sacre blue! Oui Oui! Who will ze honorable monsieur Franklin fuck this evening?"

But that's politics, no?

Britain is no longer the empire it once was, largely in part to that Atlantic agreement the US made allied powers sign for it to enter the war, agreeing to get rid of their colonial claims. Of course, the US wasn't on that end of the negotiating table. DC is the new crown, the cycle repeats. But the US is in steep decline. I think we may see some serious secession attempts in the next couple years or at least more power going back to the states.

As an aside, I have two ancestors, both father and son, who fought in the American revolution. One of them was a fifer and played that flute thing. I have family that's been in the US since the 1650s.

This fucker tells the Brits where the Bald Eagle shits in the harbor.

I'm amazed just how many dipshits don't immediately see it as humor; though I shouldn't be, because people are fucking dumb.

We're not going to evaluate the American revolution the same way as the war of 1812. Are we to conclude that Great Britain could have imposed the same jurisdictional control as before if they wanted?

Furthermore and in simple terms, the first conflict is to get the British out. The second conflict is not the same. The U.S. lost (or failed or whatever the best expression would be) regarding some of their objectives but never became colonized again (or subdued jurisdictionally).
