Going to second Everquest. (Thank you Project 99 for existing)
I was always big on the Police Quest, Kings Quest, Space Quest series.
Also, I only took the time to comment because no one brought up Civilization. I probably put more time into playing Civ 1 or 2 than any other game.

Kamp,
I have a ....60? Monk on Blue. Haven't played in forever but did play retail progression couple years ago for some fun.
Nostalgic as hell. | |

^ Played the fuck out of this on the Sega. I have almost bought this port to PC a number of times, but then I think about the NES and SNES games on my switch that I don't play...

Altered Beast and Golden Axe were a couple that ported pretty well from the Arcade to the Sega console.

When I started I liked a lot Monkey Island games, I enjoyed nights of pure fun with them. Also Indiana Jones. I used to play flight simulators, like Secret weapons of the luftwaffe, US Navy fighters, F117, etc. Doom was a revelation, I could play with some friends via modem. Superb. I spent lots of hours building maps. I liked so much Daggerfall...rpgs Next step was Half Life...

For a moment, I thought you said "Dodgeball"... which reminded me of Dodgeball: Source. A dodgeball game based on the HL2/Source engine.
I was an Alpha level tester for it. It was pretty damned fun, to be honest. I really wish it had gone further than it had.
Anyway, as far as flight sims go, I hear Star Wars Battlefront 2(the new one) has a good flight sim, although I haven't gotten that far into the game to find out. Squadrons is a pretty good one, though... but the downside to it is that the single-player mode is more or less a training mode for multiplayer, and I haven't gotten quite THAT far in that game yet, either.
I've played a few "single player" multiplayer games(me vs AI)... and it's fun, but I haven't gotten used to it enough to go against live opponents.

Speaking of flying game, Tie Fighter was amazing to me. Great innovation for that time and you were a bad guy, a very novel idea.

XWing Vs Tie Fighter was the game. MSN Gaming Zone, squads, competition...it was sweet. 8 man Balance of Power runs on 56k....fuck yeah! I was hoping Squadrons would bring that back, but not so far.
For you Amiga lovers: Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe. They had that on Sega, I think, and a version on PS1, like Speedball 2000 or something. Great sports game, and the first I remembered that had a league setting, stats and whatever.

Does anyone else feel tense after playing?
I had to stop playing yesterday because I felt muscle fatigue in my wrist and hand.
Specifically when I snipe. Constantly holding down the charged rifle.
Back in the day my gamer friends would nick name me o-face because of the way my face contorts when im concentrating so ive always tensed up, just now there are repercussions of this.
