    I changed the way the server balanced teams.

The server will now prevent you from joining a team if it will make the teams uneven. Once the teams become uneven, it will notify the server, and wait 20 seconds for someone to fix it or to join. If it is still unbalanced at that point, it will auto balance the most recent person(s) to join the team with more players.

The new system does not take into account flag caps when balancing, as the old one did. This is just the basic implementation to fix the more glaring issues of the old system. I do plan to add it.

I also disabled tfc_autoteam which should prevent people switching automatically if they fat finger the team change button. It should also keep idle players from autojoining a team on the beginning of the round.

Man I'm more glad of this than anything else!! I've been kicked for team change limit way too often just because I'm trying to go into spectator.

I'd still like to see force auto-assign at the start of a match more than anything else.

    I agree with Franks, forced auto assign at start of match smooths out the madness of 11 red and 2 blue at start of match. I know ppls like to hang out with their entourage in the Red light district, but this is turning into an STD. The server needs protection!

While I didn't see much in the way of this behavior last night when I was on, I've known it to happen in the past. I agree, though, that forced auto-assign would be awesome.

    just a text editor, its only c++
and the new stuff I am doing is in Lua.

<tanya the hairy circus girl> when balancing teams, the TOP player should be switched, to prevent stacked teams.
That's just as blind as the current implementation of switching the most recently joined.

Until it can interfere in the game intelligently, the team balancer should interfere as little as possible.
