I know this will be unpopular by the majority, but am I the only one that wishes secondary grenades disappear if used outside except for concs? Nothing seems to drag a match more than endless spamming the bridge. True, the flag could be outside, but it’s still worth it to end the 99% the time it isn’t. Thoughts?

Sometimes spamming the bridge is necessary when the other team is spamming the bridge. Lol

Sometimes The Bridge God uses nothing but RPG/Shotgun to make it more of a challenge. If you were to take away 2ndaries, the opposition would have no chance.

Absolutely wrong forum. Qualifies as one of the most pitiful whines. The source being one whose usual primary weapon is fuckin ROCKETS. You would be the last I would expect this from, Help.

First, why would it "drag" the match? By keeping the other side at bay? Forcing you to take a different route than the bridge (for those with the requisite imagination required)? I don't get this.

So, no pills, caltrops, emps, nails, or mirvs. In the water, in front of your fort, the bridge? Everyone would have to play solly. You know, fuckin ROCKETS. Your flag in the water? Use yer shotty...LOL!

Second, there is no telling what you mean by "spam". Yes, there is some spamming of the bridge, no doubt. Those fucks that do nothing but launch everything they have from the batts regardless of any enemy presence, then rinse, repeat. They will do this for most of a game sometimes. Unfortunately, there is a limit to publicly shaming them, but I believe it incumbent on their teammates to chastise them in team chat at every opportunity. But then there is the other "spam" which has become the word for just about any obstacle thrown in one's way. Fuck that. Some secondaries are used tactically. Like, no one gets this except tin those times they employ it themselves. Of course, then, they don't call it "spam".

When a mirv or nails are going off on your end of the bridge, you are probably thinking its spam even after the sniper takes your head off while you wait for it to clear. Well, maybe not you, but way too many others.

There are some new players who do that... spam bridge as HW especially, then get refill and do it over and over. An EMP up their ass shuts them up.

As for general bridge spam.. just RJ/conc over and spam the battlements, make it unsafe for them. Or go Pyro and hit them from range, take away their illusion of safety.

I chose this forum because I was hoping for civil discourse, and I have no idea what rockets have to do with spamming the bridge.

I meant "drag" as make a match unenjoyable. IMO spamfest are not fun. I maybe be in the minority on this one.

I mean no secondary grenade anywhere outside other than concs. I do not see how this would make everyone play soldier. Scouts and medics wouldn't be affected. Demoman and HWs are just as effective as soldiers from a distance. Spy grenades aren't very useful in a fight. I agree engineers and to a lesser degree pyros would have a harder time.

As for the flag outside, I agree it would be a legit time to have secondary grenades; but it's not outside the majority of the game and I can't remember the last time I saw the defense hold a flag that was outside. IMO it's worth the trade off.

Spam (1st degree): The use of a bomb/weapon without targeting a combatant.

Spam (2nd degree): In large quantities, the collateral damage created by bombs with lingering effects.

Spammers are awful idiots, but it boils down to TFC's design. Grenades are overpowered and there are too many of them. A 20% damage reduction on frag nades and a limit of special nades for some classes = a much better balanced game. But it's 21 years old and will never change, so yeah, nothing to be done except flame the aimless nubs who do it. 2fort's layout doesn't help and it wasn't designed for 26 players at once. God bless snipers.

The source being one whose usual primary weapon is fuckin ROCKETS.

Pro-tip: Ask Admins to turn FF on. Cuts down on the spam quite a bit. =D
