I downloaded a load of new skins and models for TFC, but the grenade model keeps to the default model. I've tried loads of different custom grenades, but no luck.. it looks just like the default grenade. I tried on Drippy's and my own custom server. Anyone else have this issue?

My guess is you have two problems going on:

1) You probably have "Enable HD models if available" checked in video options, which will always check the valve_hd folder for certain content (like grenades) first before the tfc or valve folders.

You want to uncheck that, as it wasn't intended for TFC, and primarily the only things it changes for TFC are messing up grenade models (like you're experiencing) and replacing the shotgun reload / bag pickup sound with an incredibly jarring godawful sound in its place, which no one in their right mind should ever have to put up with. You won't really notice a difference unchecking the option otherwise.

2) You probably haven't set up a tfc_addon (no s) folder. It's ideal to put all your custom content in this folder instead in order to keep your initial installation separate and distinct, so you can always revert to default if you want to, and so your custom content will never get overwritten by the occasional update or installation problem. Plus it makes your custom content easier to transfer or back up.

You have to first create and set the folder up, though. Create it in the Half-Life folder so it sits next to the existing tfc and tfc_downloads folders (remember, tfc_addon, not tfc_addons). Then in video options, check "Allow custom addon content", hit OK and restart TFC. You'll want to set up the subdirectories just like they exist in the tfc folder (so tfc_addon/models, for example). One other caveat is, if you use custom class configs, you'll want to delete or move the original [class].cfg files (e.g. soldier.cfg) so that they no longer exist in the tfc folder, and only exist in the tfc_addon folder instead. This might apply to userconfig.cfg as well (can't recall, but better to be safe than sorry).

I unticked the box and it worked, thanks a lot.
