No, I use my 4k TV for that. =p
I'd love a complete package of 240hz, 4k, a fast panel with great contrast ratio, HDR1000, etc. in a monitor, but we're seemingly a looong way off for that, so I settled on a compromise.
I'm a bit worried the pixels might be too visible/distracting at 27" and only 1080p, but that's about it. Otherwise, I'd rather have a higher refresh rate than a higher resolution. | |

I think it's the only GSync-compatible 280hz monitor that exists atm (other than the similar 25"). There's a different 360hz available, but it's $800ish (Erl Koenig has it, though I don't think he even plays any games that can support FPS that high; I doubt TFC does in full ADL even on a 20xx/30xx).
This is my 3rd attempt to get a new monitor; the other two were a year or so ago. The Asus I tried previously had a ton of problems, and I could never get GSync to work with either of the two prior ones with TFC, so I'm kind of holding my breath. =/ I think they've tweaked GSync a bit since my last two, and this is G-compatible rather than true GSync, so maybe it'll play differently from before. Idk.
At this point, even if I can't get GSync to play nice, going from 24" to 27" and from 144hz to 280hz should be nice. It arrives Friday, so I'll know then.

i9-9900k oc'd and likes to run at about 5. im not sure if it's supposed to always run at 5. i don't know how overclocking works, it came that way. but it doesn't have the nicer chipset, can't over clock the ram. 32gb. one of them internal ssd's that mount directly to the motherboard and look like ram. 3070rtx. umm. fuck else. | |

i haven't been on it very long it really hasn't kicked in yet but i feel calmer. i had some sort of dissociation from reality a week ago, had to pull my truck over due to partially blacking out, fired my pistol in my driveway in some sorta dazed out state, like sleep walking, and somebody passed me on a back road and i put my truck into tow/haul and went as fast as i could around a blind corner over a hill to pass them back. my truck anti lock breaks stopped me before i could totally lose control. i was like what the fuck am i even doing, my fucking mom was helping in the er the night a classmate and his mom got killed by a drunk driver, and i could've easily just killed someone. i don't know why i did it, i don't even like going fast. sold the guns and called the nuthouse and took fmla from work after that spate of incidents.
do i get a award 4 bein #1 CrazyMode? gimme some award money (i'm a capitalist now). | |

I think the strangest thing I've done is smash a television to the floor with my hands, I've done this twice in my life actually... not my proudest moments x___x
I wonder too about what you're experiencing, it's usually of less importance to understand what triggered it exactly (unless it's like a bad drug trip for example)... I don't even know what triggered my breaks from reality, they were building up gradually, very slowly.
It's a super tough place to be in...
Do you manage to get any rest now? <(^___^<) I remember the insomnia during the psychosis and playing TFC till 11:00 am ... going to sleep and then waking up at 10:00 pm, to eat dinner and play TFC again. - This was at age 17 or so >__< am 30 now. Lasted about 6 months, without treatment. Biggest mistake was not taking the medication when it was offered to me, so I'm glad you're feeling a bit calmer. :o Let's focus on that =)

ditto. there's certainly life stress but i've been through far worse. i've also got a long-standing dx that i'd kinda forgotten about because i've been stable for so long. part of that includes, to put it bluntly, psychotic breaks.
yeah the insomnia was getting to be a real problem, even with taking seroquel i was needing 2-3x than i normally take. also wasn't eating which is really abnormal for me. normally i will eat fucking anything that isn't faster than me.

I'm a bit surprised by Soldi's cheating ban too. I'd some suspicions yonks ago when I first played with him but not really since. If he and I were sniping against each other in the US morning hours on Drippy's then it was a close and fun battle. I rarely thought "wow that was real dodgy". If there are multiple demos proving his guilt then that is just sad. What sort of nonce cheats at a game of this vintage with nothing to be gained from it? My advice is to just mute her via the scoreboard as soon as you join. Literally spends her life flapping her gums on a TFC server, she must play about 15 hours a day and basically has an open mic on an all talk server. Attention seeking, moody, drama-thirsty, power hungry. For all the moaning about admins/mods on here just be glad that it ain't Angi/Harley tbh. | |
