Poll: What does going for cheap kills in the enemy SS Respawn get you? | | | Death by torture! | | All of the above! | | Crucifiction! (13%) | | Depends on the number of hours you have. | | They shove a living snake up your ass! (13%) | | Noobs get off with a warning (13%) | | They send you to the lions! | | Super Regulars with a bad history: 5 days instantly. (63%) |
| Poll has ended (it ran for 7 days). 8 total votes. |
( For the record; the first 4 above choices were stolen directly from History of the World Part 1... https://youtu.be/4XeaZKeGVc0 )
https://www.lunaticrage.com/drippy/stats/main.php?id=STEAM_0... Hours Played: 205.87
Given the number of hours played, he's a "Super Regular".
As I've stated before, Noobs(under 50 hours) tend to get off light, unless they repeat the offense after having been told the rules. Regulars(50 - 200 hours), depending on history, get punished appropriately. Could be a !kick, could be a 1 hour ban, or could be 5 days...
Super Regulars(over 200 hours).... you're expected to know the rules, and abide by them to the best of your ability.
You don't just run into the Sniper Side Respawn and start killing freshly spawned players. You should know better, right?
The first run I spotted him on, he did a little spamming against the teleporters, but that was okay, if a bit excessive. Then he dropped a detpack inside the door leading to the Sniper Deck. That's a no-no. But, it didn't kill anyone... but I figured "if he'd do that... what else might he do?" So I "First Person" Spec'd him. Someone opened the deck door to the SS Respawn, and in he ran. Well... take a look:

As a super regular with no history of bad behavior (at least not caught) I think that five days is a little excessive for cheap kills in the respawn, but at least one day is warranted for ANY super regular, even if they have a clean history. As you say, they should know better.
However the poll does not have an option for a player with clean history, the only choice is a super regular with a bad history. So five days is warranted.

I think also 5 days is longer then warranted. Maybe 5 days after being banned for the same crime a couple of times for 1-2 days.

Is their an admin slap mod for TFC? I know counter-strike had one.
Not just a regular, but a super regular... I'm shocked and appalled.
At 2:10, yeah he didn't chase the player in but aren't you allowed to engage opponents in the sniper spawn en route to take out teleporters? As a matter of sportsmanship and living up to the "spirit of the law" I'll usually sacrifice myself and not engage freshly spawned players when I'm on a teleporter hunt.

But as I've always said; you should just avoid any possible confusion and just GTFO. The reason for that is "you're technically NOT supposed to be in there", but it IS legal to target buildables... so it's a bit of a loophole.
Just because you didn't go looking for cheap kills as your reason for being there, doesn't excuse you from targeting anything except those buildables you went in there after. Yes, collateral damage/kills can happen... but if your target is the buildables themselves, you've got an argument in your defense.
Don't move "intent" into a gray area, and you should be fine.

If he didn't have a record of being banned for the same thing, I might have gone lenient and just 1 hour'd him(as that is my other option).

So any detpack in that area isn't allowed? I feel like that's another "rule" that is admin specific. You have posted video of puppy doing the same thing and no instant ban on them.

The video I posted of Puppy's ban didn't involve him setting a detpack... it was Spamming the Respawn(I just went back and watched it, because you mentioned it). This one: https://youtu.be/Rl7iOo4F7pg He got mad at Kyree for placing Detpacks outside of the Main Respawn(which is legal, for the reasons stated in that video), and decided to spam the SS Respawn(which is not legal, in the way he did it).
Had Anubis put the Detpack on the DECK side of the door, it would have been legal. Had it ended there, at that run(where he went a bit heavy on the weapons to take out the existing teleporters), I'd have let it go. "No harm, no foul", so to speak. He didn't seem to intend(at that time) to be going after freshly spawned players, and none were present. He just went heavy handed on taking out the teleporters. Intent.
Where he fucked up was when he got into the SS Respawn, there were no buildables present, so he started attacking freshly spawned players.
But to your point about Detpacks, they are allowed OUTSIDE of Respawns(as they take time to set, at which point the Demo is vulnerable to attack)... but not INSIDE.
