I assume it is one that plays close to/inside the respawn to be able to retreat back into the respawn for protection/ resupply. This makes it very difficult for the enemies to kill you because they can not easily access the opponents respawn. | |

I disagree, that sniper is not a spawn hugger in that video. He was sniping the field from a battlements corner. That’s common practice and makes tactical sense. Hiding in corners makes a sniper less noticeable. And you can’t fault a sniper for running into his spawn when a soldier RJ to the bats and attacks him. Also it makes tactical sense for the sniper to charge his gun while leaving the respawn. You yourself justified the action. | |

That’s not hugging the spawn, that’s called a “tactical retreat”. That’s exactly what I’d do, I’d “tactically withdraw myself from the battlefield” and listen to what’s going on. Once I felt the area outside was clear I’d pop out and look to shoot the soldier in the back as he headed to the main respawn area of the battlements. However, if he was still there, silently waiting outside the sniper spawn, I’d have a grenade primed to lob at his face as I then immediately backed back into the spawn. After the nade exploded I’d rush out with my AR and fuck him up as he licked his wounds.
As a sniper, I may play as a melee class at times, getting up close with my AR. But, a sniper is best employed at range, so that’s why there should always be a “shoot and scoot” policy, when confronted by an angry soldier. I mean, not all snipers (if any) have my AR melee skills, so they should always look to “tactically retreat” when the situation arises. | |

Bro, with all due respect, I don’t think you have “the skills” to criticise other people’s play styles (at least not this sniper), as you’re not a very good player yourself. I was speccing you the other night (looking to see if you practice what you preach, with regards to playing within the rules) and you’re skill level (as soldier) was… I dunno… 3/10? I’m not very good at soldier either, but I’m just saying… maybe just enjoy the game and not act like you’re a TFC gaming God?
