    #1. Chevelle was fucking amazing

"SEEING RED AGAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN"...yes, he held that note for it's entirety (and I saw them 2 years ago so they were older). Show was intense.

Send the pain below is a particular jam of mine...and it was incredible live

"tantrum" was my old TFC name...so thanks for striking a nerve there

But yeah, they played all the good stuff..The Red, Closure, Send the pain below, Vitamin R, the circus, jars, I get it...unreal show.

3 days grace opened for them...also amazing.

Nice, I have to fucking go.

Yeah, we mounted a ton of speakers to our Wakeboard boat before it was like, normal and used to blast music, could hear it clear as day 70ft behind the boat.

Let's just say it'd get in my head and I'd try to throw some wild shit, caused a concussion or two.

I think the overall most memorable concert was Metal day at the US Festival. So much of a mixture of good and bad experiences.

Another truly memorable one was a double concert at a venue in LA of a Mercyful Fate set and then King Diamond performing 'THEM' (actors and fully animatronic house on stage and all) followed by various other KD songs. It was like a 4+ hour total concert

Side note: Saw Gwar open for Green Jelly at the same venue

Metallica - best band I've seen. Saw them in 2017 and 2019. Best I've seen because of the length of their show (~2.5 hours), the intensity of their shows, and their sound quality. Mind you, these guys are all in their late 50's. They're also my favorite band of all time, so I'm sure this is partly biased on my part.
You would have lost your mind seeing them back in the late 80s/early 90s, then. Back when they were really good.

I saw them twice; in 1991 with GNR, and again in 2000 with Korn and Kid Rock.

First time was absolutely amazing!

Second time.... not so much. I partially blame Korn for that, though... as they blew a bunch of the speakers, and wouldn't stop long enough for repairs. Really pathetic show after Kid Rock left the stage, and I'm not a big Kid Rock fan, either.

LOL! Trent was touring with Soundgarden. It was the last time they were here in Houston. Needless to say it was a great show. The Foo Fighters cam not long ago too, CRAZY good show.

Iron Maiden, Ghost, King Diamond and Lamb of God. All were great live for one reason or another.

And Fucking Slayer before Lombardo left and Hanneman died.

I know I'm forgetting some...I'm still hungover from the last week of being on vacation. I'm too old to drink this much.

I was up by Traverse City for a week of no internet, golf (finally) and jet skiing in Lake Michigan. My liver is fucked and I'm too old to drink that many days in a row anymore.

Maiden is my pick for performance/stage show. The stages are always packed with shit.

KD for the same reason, plus it's KD...plus he throws in Mercyful Fate.

I wanted to add Rush. Their final tour was the shit...stage, music, all of it. Going from a huge set with the newest material and then shortening the set with each era until you're left with a basic stage set with just drums amps and the band was amazing. Hearing Anthem and 2112 (4 parts of it anyway) blew my fucking mind.

My first LoG show was crazy. Cobo was just spinning. I started at the rail by the stage, got sucked into the pit and ended up tossed out to the back...so much fun. Slayer came on and just blew me away.

Flotsam is a top 10 favorite for me...I bought the first album on release day on cassette. I've seen them a couple times, their shows are tits, but basic and the last time I saw them Erik's voice was fucked.

Dio. I don't have to say anything else.

Last in Line isn't much for stage show, saw them at the Token Lounge, but fucking A were they good.

Armored Saint. Legit. John Bush is solid.

Saxon....I hated them growing up. Seeing them Live changed that.

WASP when Blackie would ride Elvis..too good. I saw them later during a Crimson Idol tour and he was piping in vocals, and it pissed me off.

Great White...met the band for free, pictures, and it was the last tour with the original band. Jack Russell was still really good.

Y&T. They sounded amazing, but the best part was my buddy's brother couldn't make the show with us, when we met Dave Meniketti and told him, I called Jeff and Dave talked to him for like 10 to 15 minutes on my phone. Such a cool guy.

Type O Negative. Small venue, big sound, Halloween. October Rust tour...fuck yeah.

Pantera. 97, I think. Same tour they did the live album from. My face melted. After Machine Head cleared out and the stage was set, as soon as the pre-show music started, everyone who had a seat in the Palace, rushed the floor...never saw anything like it. The atmosphere was unbelievable, and it was like they burned bales of weed in there.

Ghost is very church like. It was like a ceremony...each time I've seen them. I hate Papa 4/Cardinal Copia, but can't wait for the next album and tour.

Motley Crue during the Carnival tour was fucking fun. Just a big party. Titty cam.

2004 Ozzfest...how many times can you get and lose a fucking buzz in one day?

Judas Priest, Queensryche and Dream Theater. Awesome musicians, great sound, bland AF stage show. Although, QR on the Mindcrime tour was solid. Seen them multiple times though.

Celtic Frost...got to meet Tom, got introduced to 1349, and was blown away by the shit that I grew up on.

Every show I've gone to, other than WASP, has been an experience. Maiden is the best, Rush is the 2nd, and everything else listed is up there. There's more that I didn't bother with, they're just average to me.

Wait...Anvil...when they put out the DVD. Went to the show, the opener was the DVD, then the show. Never was a big fan, still not a fan, but it was pretty good. Got to meet them...never got how anyone thought they'd be the next big thing with all the other great bands back then.

I got hit by a car in a sidewalk and went to Ozzfest in the same week...Tinley park in Chicago...ask PDUBS :P
PTA!...that nod to Dio....fuck I wish I had seen him live....please tell me more...what did they open with? what did they close with?

JFC The more I read...the deeper I wanna go...John Bush? FUUUUCK
....the conversations we could have!!!!
you're cooler than I could ever be! AND you've seen KD
You thought Priest was Bland? I seen them with Alice Cooper(for the 3rd time)...not bland at all...not sure what tour that was
Glenn Tipton and KK kept it lively :)
HOW was Diamonds ever bland...(I'm in love with the joan Baez version) but The Ripper?
PANTERA!!!!
I got out of prison and my gf took me to Pantera and Skid Row......what a fucking show!
I hafta pick your post apart sorry

MFER got to see Celtic Frost...I think we've had this discussion before

Did you see Slayer with Hanneman or with Gary Holt? I've seen em with both....for a long time I was anti replacement....but if there was a replacement....gary fucking Holt was the dood to do it
I've seen em both
My last show was Municipal Waste and Exodus in Seattle....standing 5ft from Gary Fucking Holt was invigorating

Don't get me wrong...JP sounded great. KK and Glenn were spot on and the band is just tight. It's just that...well, Rob. Sweating his nuts off in all that leather, but not moving. He basically just hunched over and sung. Sounded great, but I miss the Screaming For Vengeance Rob.

I get he's old, but bring it! BRING IT!!

Okay...Dio. Lemme tell ya, it was great. It was the only time I got to see him and it was with Motorhead and Maiden.

Motorhead was what I expected....and with Mikkey Dee...jesus. Seeing that, I was hoping for the intro to Welcome Home. Anyway...

Dio opened with Killing the Dragon....but the fact that they played Mob Rules was all I needed. Ended with Heaven and Hell. I wasn't even drunk yet, and they sounded good and Ronnie is just a power house on stage. I'm super happy I was able to see him and Lemmy before they died.

I forgot to mention Sabbath on the farewell tour 5 years ago. I never got to see Ozzy...I did see Sabbath at Ozzfest, but this show was good. Sad it wasn't the full band, but still was a great show. They played War Pigs, NIB and Sweet Leaf and I was happy.

Pantera though...Phil wasn't fucked up, and put on a great show. Everything they played was magic, heavy and I left that show destroyed.

Both.

Yeah, we talked about CF before. Did I mention that Tom signed all of my buddy's CF covers, and wrote 'Abomination' on Cold Lake?
