Katina and I both got the first 2 vaccinations, our son did not. HE caught it and brought it home to us (both on the upper end of "vulnerable"). Katina and I were both mildly sick for about 2-3 days.... the young healthy one that brought it home to us? Was sick as fuck for over 2 weeks.
That's from personal experience.
Remember, Katina was a little over a year out of open heart surgery, and is a diabetic smoker. I'm a smoker with COPD and an already diminished lung capacity. He's normally as healthy as a horse, but it took him down a peg of three. Of course, now his dumb ass thinks, "Well, I already had it once, I'm immune now." <facepalm>
It's similar to influenza, at least at it's base. It continues to mutate, but it seems with the mass vaccinations that it's less and less dangerous with each new strain. At least, I hope so. I still haven't gotten the 3rd or 4th variant of the vaccination.
Also, there are some places that still require masks, because those are still vulnerable (even vaccinated) show up a lot. Like, doctor's offices... | |
