Why did you moved your assets to stocks and ETFs the day before the shooting started?
I didn't know the shooting would start. I was also concerned about a Fed rate rise, or even leaving it unchanged, would cause a drop in value. Bond values fall as rates rise. Trump's antics were also pushing up Treasury yields, to the detriment of bond holders.

That must have been very unsettling to see it nosedive like that. I've only done high risk/volatile bets with chump change.
It was, a bit, but I've been there before. The stocks I chose were established Canadian banks and companies, with a chunk thrown at a TSK Index ETF. I'm currently underwater on one of the positions but while I wait for it to recover the shares have a dividend yield of just over 9%, a good quarterly chunk of change. Also, dividends (well, Eligible Dividends) are, under most circumstances, the most tax-efficient source of investment income in Canada.
